دعا رئيس الأركان اليمني الفريق صغير بن عزيز، إلى دمج جميع التشكيلات العسكرية تحت مظلة وزارة الدفاع، محذراً من أن الجيش الذي تتعدد ولاءاته يكون مهدداً لكيان الدولة، مشيداً بالدعم السعودي الكبير لليمن ومؤسسته العسكرية.
أكدت مصادر يمنية وشهود عيان وصول دفعة جديدة من قوات درع الوطن إلى عدن، اليوم (الجمعة). وأفادت بأن «ألوية العمالقة» ستتولى حماية المؤسسات في عدن، مؤكدة أن الأوضاع مستقرة لليوم الثالث على التوالي. ولفتت المصادر إلى تنسيق كامل بين ألوية العمالقة و«درع الوطن» في عدن، وأن جهاز مكافحة الإرهاب يفعّل عمله لحماية عدن.
وأعلنت قوات درع الوطن أنها نفّذت عمليةَ انتشار في عدن، بتوجيهات القائد الأعلى للقوات المسلحة، وفق خطة منظمة، تراعي أعلى مستويات الانضباط والجاهزية، وبالتنسيق الكامل مع الجهات المختصة.
وقالت إن مهماتها في عدن تتمثل في تعزيز الأمن والاستقرار، وحماية المؤسسات والممتلكات، والمساهمة في ترسيخ حضور الدولة في كافة المواقع.
ونفّذت قوات درع الوطن أيضا حملة أمنية واسعة لاسترجاع المعدات والأسلحة التي نُهبت من مطار الريان خلال فترة الأحداث والفوضى التي شهدتها مدينة المكلا في الفترة الماضية. وأسفرت الحملة عن ضبط كميات من الأسلحة الثقيلة، والمعدات العسكرية، والذخائر، إلى جانب ممتلكات أخرى تعود للدولة كانت قد نُهبت من مطار الريان.
من جانبها، أكدت قيادة قوات درع الوطن أن هذه الحملة جاءت بتوجيهات ودعم من السلطة المحلية بمحافظة حضرموت، ضمن مساعٍ متواصلة لبسط الأمن والاستقرار ومنع أي أعمال نهب أو فوضى داخل مدينة المكلا.
وفي مدينة المكلا في محافظة حضرموت، عقد اجتماع برئاسة رئيس أركان حرب المنطقة العسكرية الثانية العميد سالم أحمد باسلوم، بحث آليات التنسيق والتعاون المشترك بين ألوية ووحداتِ المنطقة وقوات درع الوطن الموجودة بساحل حضرموت. وجرى خلال الاجتماع التأكيد على أهمية تعزيز التنسيق والتعاون لتحقيق الأهداف المشتركة، المتمثلة في ضبط الأمن، وترسيخ دعائم الاستقرار، وتطبيع الحياة العامة.

The sources noted full coordination between the Giants Brigades and the "National Shield" in Aden, and that the Counter-Terrorism Unit is activating its operations to protect Aden.
The National Shield forces announced that they have carried out a deployment operation in Aden, under the directives of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, according to an organized plan that adheres to the highest levels of discipline and readiness, and in full coordination with the relevant authorities.
They stated that their missions in Aden involve enhancing security and stability, protecting institutions and property, and contributing to reinforcing the state's presence in all locations.
The National Shield forces also conducted a wide-ranging security campaign to recover equipment and weapons that were looted from Al-Riyan Airport during the period of unrest and chaos that the city of Mukalla experienced recently. The campaign resulted in the seizure of quantities of heavy weapons, military equipment, and ammunition, along with other state-owned properties that had been looted from Al-Riyan Airport.
For its part, the leadership of the National Shield forces confirmed that this campaign came under the directives and support of the local authority in Hadramout Governorate, as part of ongoing efforts to establish security and stability and to prevent any acts of looting or chaos within the city of Mukalla.
