افتتح وزير الثقافة محافظ الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا الأمير بدر بن عبدالله بن فرحان آل سعود، اليوم (الخميس)، توسعة مطار العلا الدولي، في خطوة استراتيجية تعكس التزام الهيئة بتطوير البنية التحتية الحيوية، وتعكس مكانة العلا محطةً لوجستيةً، وجويةً محوريةً في شمال غرب المملكة، كما تعزز الجاهزية التشغيلية، وتواكب النمو المتسارع في أعداد المسافرين، والرحلات الجوية.

وتم رفع المساحة الإجمالية لمباني الصالات بنسبة 44% من 3,800 متر مربع إلى 5,450 متراً مربعاً، لترفع الطاقة الاستيعابية للمسافرين بنسبة 75% لتصل إلى 700 ألف مسافر بعد أن كانت 400 ألف مسافر، وزيادة عدد منصات الجوازات الدولية من 4 منصات إلى 12 منصة، وتطوير تجربة المسافر عبر البوابات الإلكترونية.

The Minister of Culture and Governor of the Royal Commission for AlUla, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, today (Thursday) inaugurated the expansion of AlUla International Airport, in a strategic move that reflects the commission's commitment to developing vital infrastructure, and highlights AlUla's position as a logistical and air hub in the northwest of the Kingdom. It also enhances operational readiness and keeps pace with the rapid growth in the number of travelers and flights.

The total area of the terminal buildings has been increased by 44% from 3,800 square meters to 5,450 square meters, raising the passenger capacity by 75% to reach 700,000 passengers, up from 400,000 passengers. The number of international passport control counters has increased from 4 counters to 12 counters, and the travel experience has been enhanced through electronic gates.
