ذكرت صحيفة نيويورك تايمز أن إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب ستفرض رسوماً جمركية جديدة «بشكل شبه فوري» في حال قررت المحكمة العليا إلغاء الرسوم الشاملة التي أطلقها الرئيس بموجب قانون الطوارئ. ونقلت الصحيفة عن الممثل التجاري الأمريكي جيميسون غرير قوله، في مقابلة نُشرت أمس (الإثنين)، أن الإدارة ستبدأ «في اليوم التالي مباشرة» استبدال الرسوم الملغاة بضرائب ورسوم أخرى. ومن المتوقع أن تصدر المحكمة العليا قرارها بشأن هذه الرسوم خلال الأسابيع القادمة، وربما في وقت مبكر من يوم الثلاثاء القادم، وفقاً للتقرير. ويُعد الطعن القانوني المعروض أمام المحكمة اختباراً كبيراً لصلاحيات الرئيس الأمريكي، وكذلك لمدى استعداد المحكمة العليا لكبح بعض الصلاحيات الواسعة التي طالب بها الرئيس ترمب منذ عودته إلى البيت الأبيض في يناير 2025. The New York Times reported that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump will impose new tariffs "almost immediately" if the Supreme Court decides to overturn the comprehensive tariffs initiated by the president under emergency law. The newspaper quoted U.S. Trade Representative Jameson Greer as saying in an interview published yesterday (Monday) that the administration will begin "the very next day" to replace the revoked tariffs with other taxes and fees. The Supreme Court is expected to issue its decision regarding these tariffs in the coming weeks, possibly as early as next Tuesday, according to the report. The legal challenge presented to the court is a significant test of the powers of the U.S. president, as well as the Supreme Court's willingness to curb some of the broad powers that President Trump has sought since returning to the White House in January 2025.
