تابع قناة عكاظ على الواتساب دفعت حادثة غرق طفلين في أحد أنهار محافظة ديالى العراقية السلطات المعنية إلى اتخاذ إجراء استثنائي، تمثل في تغيير مجرى النهر ضمن مقطع محدد، بهدف تسهيل عمليات البحث عن جثماني الطفلين وتسليمهما لذويهما، بعد مرور أكثر من أسبوعين على فقدانهما. ونقلت صحيفة «دجلة» العراقية عن مصدر مسؤول قوله إن الجهات المختصة منحت الضوء الأخضر لتغيير مجرى نهر ديالى في نطاق معين، وفق الإمكانيات المتاحة، لتمكين فرق الإنقاذ من انتشال جثتي الطفلين اللذين غرقا قبل نحو 18 يومًا أثناء لعبهما بالقرب من ضفاف النهر. وأوضح المصدر أن تنسيقًا جرى مع وزارة الموارد المائية لتنفيذ عملية تحويل المجرى، بما يسمح لفرق الغواصين القادمة من بغداد بتنفيذ عمليات بحث مكثفة، في محاولة أخيرة للعثور على الجثمانين. وأضاف أن هذا الإجراء من شأنه توفير مرونة وانسيابية أكبر في تمشيط قاع النهر وضفافه لمسافات تمتد لعدة كيلومترات، ما يرفع من فرص العثور على الطفلين وإنهاء هذا الملف الإنساني المؤلم. وتعود حادثة الغرق إلى الثامن من الشهر الجاري، حيث فقد طفلان من أبناء العمومة، تتراوح أعمارهما بين خمس وست سنوات، حياتهما في نهر يقع قرب قرية مرجانة التابعة لناحية جلولاء شمال شرقي محافظة ديالى. ومنذ الساعات الأولى للحادثة، باشرت فرق الإنقاذ، وبمساندة من أهالي القرية، عمليات بحث وتمشيط واسعة داخل النهر، إلا أن جميع المحاولات باءت بالفشل حتى الآن. وكان متطوعون من سكان المنطقة قد أشاروا في تصريحات سابقة لوسائل إعلام محلية إلى أن برودة المياه، وسوء الأحوال الجوية، وتعكّر النهر، إضافة إلى سرعة التيار، شكّلت عوائق كبيرة أمام عمليات البحث. ويُعد نهر ديالى من المجاري المائية الرئيسية في المحافظة، إلا أنه يشهد في بعض مناطقه تيارات قوية وسريعة، خصوصا بعد هطول الأمطار الأخيرة، ما يزيد من خطورة السباحة أو اللعب بالقرب من ضفافه. The incident of the drowning of two children in one of the rivers in Diyala province, Iraq, prompted the relevant authorities to take exceptional measures, which involved changing the course of the river within a specific section, with the aim of facilitating the search operations for the bodies of the two children and returning them to their families, after more than two weeks of their disappearance. The Iraqi newspaper "Dijla" reported that a responsible source stated that the competent authorities have given the green light to change the course of the Diyala River within a certain range, according to the available capabilities, to enable rescue teams to retrieve the bodies of the two children who drowned about 18 days ago while playing near the riverbanks. The source explained that coordination took place with the Ministry of Water Resources to implement the course alteration, allowing diving teams coming from Baghdad to conduct intensive search operations in a final attempt to locate the bodies. He added that this measure would provide greater flexibility and fluidity in searching the riverbed and its banks over distances extending for several kilometers, increasing the chances of finding the children and concluding this painful humanitarian case. The drowning incident dates back to the eighth of this month, when two cousins, aged between five and six years, lost their lives in a river located near the village of Marjana, which belongs to the Jalawla district in northeastern Diyala province. Since the early hours of the incident, rescue teams, with the support of the villagers, began extensive search and combing operations within the river; however, all attempts have so far been unsuccessful. Volunteers from the area had previously indicated in statements to local media that the cold water, adverse weather conditions, the river's turbidity, and the swift current posed significant obstacles to the search operations. The Diyala River is one of the main waterways in the province, but it experiences strong and fast currents in some areas, especially after the recent rains, increasing the danger of swimming or playing near its banks.
