برعاية أمير المنطقة الشرقية الأمير سعود بن نايف بن عبدالعزيز، دشّن نائب أمير المنطقة الشرقية الأمير سعود بن بندر بن عبدالعزيز، وبحضور محافظ الأحساء الأمير سعود بن طلال بن بدر، النسخة الثالثة من مهرجان البشت الحساوي، الذي تنظمه هيئة التراث بمشاركة دولية، في قصر إبراهيم بمحافظة الأحساء، والمقام خلال الفترة من 28 يناير ولمدة 11 يومًا.
وأكد نائب أمير المنطقة الشرقية أن مهرجان البشت الحساوي يُجسد قيمة التراث الوطني بوصفه عنصرًا حيًا من الهوية الثقافية للمملكة، ويعكس الاهتمام بصون الحرف التقليدية ودعم الحرفيين، بما يسهم في استدامة هذا الإرث ونقله للأجيال القادمة، مشيرًا إلى ما تتميز به الأحساء من عمق تاريخي وثقافي جعلها حاضنة بارزة لمثل هذه الفعاليات النوعية ذات البعد المحلي والدولي.
واطلع في قاعة «رحلة البشت» على صور شخصية بالبشت للملك المؤسس عبدالعزيز بن عبدالرحمن آل سعود -رحمه الله، وأبنائه الملوك سعود وفيصل وخالد وفهد وعبدالله -رحمهم الله، وخادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، وولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، كما شاهد دقة بشت الملك المؤسس -طيب الله ثراه.
والتقى نائب أمير المنطقة الشرقية بعدد من تجار البشوت من السعودية وسوريا والعراق والأردن والبحرين وقطر والكويت، واطلع على أجنحة الورش التدريبية التي يقدمها المعهد الملكي للفنون التقليدية (ورث)، وبيت الدفة الذي يعرض العباءة النسائية التقليدية، والمعزب الصغير المخصص لتعريف الأطفال بصناعة البشوت وبروتوكول ارتدائها، إلى جانب التجربة الغامرة.
ويقدم مهرجان البشت الحساوي، الذي يفتح أبوابه يوميًا من الرابعة عصرًا وحتى الحادية عشرة مساءً، باقة من الأنشطة الثقافية والتراثية المتنوعة، تشمل عروضًا مسرحية وتجارب تفاعلية تستعرض رحلة البشت وأنواعه والمواد المستخدمة في حياكته وخياطته وأندر ألوانه، مع إتاحة الفرصة للزوار لارتدائه والتعرف على بروتوكول لبسه حسب الألوان، إلى جانب ورش عمل مخصصة للأطفال في الفنون التقليدية، وعروض أدائية شعبية تعكس التاريخ الفني للفنون التراثية مثل العرضة والخماري والسامري.
ويأتي المهرجان ضمن جهود هيئة التراث في الاحتفاء بالعناصر الثقافية المميزة للمملكة، وحماية وإدارة الثروة الثقافية، وتنمية الاهتمام بالحرف اليدوية ودعمها، من خلال تقديم محتوى ثقافي متنوع يبرز أهمية التراث الوطني، ويعزز الحفاظ على صناعة البشوت التي تشتهر بها الأحساء، ويُعد أول فعالية وطنية تحتفي بالبشت عقب إعلان منظمة اليونسكو في ديسمبر 2025 إدراجه ضمن القائمة التمثيلية لعناصر التراث الثقافي غير المادي.
Under the patronage of the Prince of the Eastern Province, Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Prince of the Eastern Province, Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, along with the Governor of Al-Ahsa, Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, inaugurated the third edition of the Al-Ahsa Bisht Festival, organized by the Heritage Authority with international participation, at Ibrahim Palace in Al-Ahsa, which runs from January 28 for a duration of 11 days.
The Deputy Prince of the Eastern Province emphasized that the Al-Ahsa Bisht Festival embodies the value of national heritage as a living element of the cultural identity of the Kingdom, reflecting the interest in preserving traditional crafts and supporting artisans, contributing to the sustainability of this legacy and its transmission to future generations. He pointed out the historical and cultural depth that Al-Ahsa possesses, making it a prominent host for such qualitative events with both local and international dimensions.
He visited the "Bisht Journey" hall, where he viewed personal photos of the founding king, Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud - may God have mercy on him, and his sons, Kings Saud, Faisal, Khalid, Fahd, and Abdullah - may God have mercy on them, as well as the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. He also observed the precision of the founding king's bisht - may God bless his soul.
The Deputy Prince of the Eastern Province met with several bisht traders from Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait, and reviewed the training workshop sections presented by the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wirth), the Dafa House showcasing traditional women's abayas, and the small exhibition designed to introduce children to the bisht-making process and the protocol for wearing them, alongside an immersive experience.
The Al-Ahsa Bisht Festival, which opens its doors daily from 4 PM to 11 PM, offers a variety of cultural and heritage activities, including theatrical performances and interactive experiences that showcase the journey of the bisht, its types, the materials used in its weaving and sewing, and its rare colors. Visitors will have the opportunity to wear it and learn about the protocol for wearing it according to colors, in addition to workshops dedicated to children in traditional arts and folk performance shows that reflect the artistic history of heritage arts such as the Ardah, Khammari, and Samri.
The festival comes as part of the efforts of the Heritage Authority to celebrate the distinctive cultural elements of the Kingdom, protect and manage cultural wealth, and develop interest in and support for handicrafts by providing diverse cultural content that highlights the importance of national heritage, and enhances the preservation of the bisht industry that Al-Ahsa is famous for. It is considered the first national event to celebrate the bisht following the announcement by UNESCO in December 2025 of its inclusion in the representative list of intangible cultural heritage elements.
