افتتحت مساء الإثنين بالعاصمة الرياض البطولة الآسيوية الأولى للاكروس التي يستضيفها الاتحاد السعودي للاكروس بحضور نائب رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية الأمير فهد بن جلوي بن عبدالعزيز بن مساعد، ورئيس الاتحاد السعودي للاكروس فهد بن معمر. وشهدت المباراة الافتتاحية، فوز المنتخب السعودي على نظيره الهندي بنتيجة (6 – 4)، فيما تغلب المنتخب العراقي على المنتخب الباكستاني بنتيجة (8 – 6) في المواجهة الثانية، إذ أظهرت المباريات مستوى فنيًا تنافسيًا متميزًا من جميع الفرق المشاركة. وتستمر منافسات البطولة حتى الخميس القادم، بمشاركة منتخبات السعودية والهند وباكستان والعراق، في إطار جهود المملكة لدعم وتطوير رياضة اللاكروس وتعزيز مكانة الرياضة الجماعية والرياضات الإقليمية والدولية، وترسيخ مكانة الرياض بصفتها وجهة رياضية رائدة. The first Asian Lacrosse Championship was inaugurated on Monday evening in the capital, Riyadh, hosted by the Saudi Lacrosse Federation, with the presence of the Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Fahd bin Jiluwi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaid, and the President of the Saudi Lacrosse Federation, Fahd bin Maamar. The opening match saw the Saudi team defeat their Indian counterparts with a score of (6 – 4), while the Iraqi team overcame the Pakistani team with a score of (8 – 6) in the second match, showcasing a distinguished competitive level of play from all participating teams. The championship competitions will continue until next Thursday, with the participation of the teams from Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, and Iraq, as part of the Kingdom's efforts to support and develop the sport of lacrosse and enhance the status of team sports and regional and international sports, establishing Riyadh as a leading sports destination.
