هدد الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي، اليوم (الأحد)، باستهداف البنية التحتية للطاقة في روسيا، مؤكداً أنها هدف مشروع للهجمات الأوكرانية. واعتبر زيلينسكي أن قطاع الطاقة هو مصدر تمويل لإنتاج الأسلحة، قائلاً: «ليس علينا أن نختار بين قصف هدف عسكري أو هدف للطاقة، إن (الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين) يبيع النفط، فهل هو هدف متعلق بالطاقة أم هدف عسكري، في الواقع الأمر سيان». وكتب الرئيس الأوكراني على حسابه في «X»: «إما أن نصنع أسلحة ونستهدف أسلحتهم، أو نقصف المصدر الذي تأتي منه الإيرادات ويزيدها أضعافاً، هذا المصدر هو قطاع الطاقة، كل هذا هدف مشروع بالنسبة لنا». وكان وزير الخارجية الأوكراني أندريه سيبيها قد قال في وقت سابق اليوم إن الزعيمين الأوكراني والروسي بحاجة إلى الاجتماع معاً لمناقشة أصعب القضايا المتبقية في محادثات السلام، موضحاً أن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب هو الوحيد الذي يملك القدرة على التوصل إلى اتفاق. وأشار سيبيها في مقابلة إلى أن أوكرانيا تريد تسريع الجهود لإنهاء الحرب المستمرة منذ 4 سنوات والاستفادة من الزخم في المحادثات التي تتوسط فيها الولايات المتحدة قبل أن تدخل عوامل أخرى على الخط وتؤثر على المساعي، مثل حملة انتخابات التجديد النصفي للكونغرس الأمريكي في نوفمبر. بالمقابل، قالت وزارة الدفاع الروسية اليوم إن قواتها سيطرت على سيدوروفكا في منطقة سومي الأوكرانية، وجلوشكوفكا في منطقة خاركوف. وتحتل روسيا نحو خُمس أراضي أوكرانيا، بعد نحو 4 سنوات على الحرب التي بدأت في فبراير 2022، والتي منها شبه جزيرة القرم وأجزاء من شرق البلاد، لكن أوكرانيا خلال المفاوضات المستمرة مع روسيا تصب تركيزها على الحصول على ضمانات أمنية غربية بمجرد دخول وقف إطلاق النار حيز التنفيذ لردع أي حرب روسية في المستقبل. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky threatened today (Sunday) to target energy infrastructure in Russia, confirming that it is a legitimate target for Ukrainian attacks. Zelensky considered the energy sector to be a source of funding for weapon production, stating: "We do not have to choose between bombing a military target or an energy target; (Russian President Vladimir Putin) sells oil, so is it an energy target or a military target? In reality, it is the same." The Ukrainian president wrote on his account on "X": "Either we produce weapons and target their weapons, or we bomb the source from which the revenues come and multiply them many times over; this source is the energy sector. All of this is a legitimate target for us." Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha earlier today stated that the Ukrainian and Russian leaders need to meet to discuss the toughest remaining issues in peace talks, explaining that former U.S. President Donald Trump is the only one capable of reaching an agreement. Sybiha indicated in an interview that Ukraine wants to accelerate efforts to end the war that has been ongoing for 4 years and to take advantage of the momentum in the talks mediated by the United States before other factors come into play and affect the efforts, such as the upcoming U.S. midterm elections in November. In contrast, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated today that its forces have taken control of Sidorivka in the Sumy region of Ukraine and Hlushkivka in the Kharkiv region. Russia occupies about one-fifth of Ukraine's territory, nearly 4 years after the war began in February 2022, including the Crimean Peninsula and parts of eastern Ukraine.
