دعا دبلوماسي أمريكي القيادة السياسية في إقليم كردستان إلى اتخاذ الإجراءات التي من شأنها إنجاح العملية السياسية والحفاظ على الاستقرار السياسي في العراق. وقال القنصل العام الأمريكي في أربيل غويندولين غرين خلال لقاء رئيس إقليم كردستان نيجيرفان بارزني، اليوم (الإثنين)، إن الولايات المتحدة تسعى لضمان استقرار العراق والحفاظ على أمنه وهو ما يتطلب إنجاح العملية السياسية. وبحث بارزاني وغرين أهمية التفاهم والتعاون بين الأطراف السياسية المختلفة في كردستان والخطوات المتخذة بشأن تشكيل الحكومة الجديدة. واستعرض اللقاء العلاقة بين أربيل وبغداد وآخر مستجدات العملية السياسية، خصوصا ما يتعلق بانتخاب رئيس الجمهورية وتشكيل الحكومة الاتحادية الجديدة. من جهة أخرى، أعلن رئيس خلية الإعلام الأمني الفريق سعد معن، اليوم، ارتفاع عدد سجناء تنظيم «داعش» المرحلين إلى العراق إلى 4583 سجيناً من العراقيين والسوريين وجنسيات مختلفة. ونقل الأسبوع الماضي 2250 سجيناً من عناصر التنظيم الإرهابي من الأراضي السورية إلى العراق، براً وجواً وبالتنسيق مع التحالف الدولي من جنسيات متعددة وأُودعوا في مراكز احتجاز محصّنة. واعتبر أن العراق يتحمّل مسؤولية هذا الملف عن المجتمع الدولي، ما يتطلب تعاوناً من الدول المعنية، لافتاً إلى تشكيل لجنة عليا بإشراف قيادة العمليات المشتركة لإجراء التحقيقات وفق الأطر القانونية، وبإشراف السلطة القضائية العراقية. يذكر أن العدد المتوقع وصوله يبلغ أكثر من 7000 عنصر من داعش. Barzani and Green discussed the importance of understanding and cooperation among the various political parties in Kurdistan and the steps taken regarding the formation of the new government. The meeting reviewed the relationship between Erbil and Baghdad and the latest developments in the political process, particularly concerning the election of the President of the Republic and the formation of the new federal government. On another note, the head of the Security Media Cell, Lieutenant General Saad Maan, announced today that the number of ISIS prisoners transferred to Iraq has risen to 4,583, including Iraqis, Syrians, and individuals of various nationalities. Last week, 2,250 prisoners from the terrorist organization were transferred from Syrian territory to Iraq, both by land and air, in coordination with the international coalition, and they were placed in fortified detention centers. He noted that Iraq bears the responsibility for this file on behalf of the international community, which requires cooperation from the concerned countries, pointing out the formation of a high committee under the supervision of the Joint Operations Command to conduct investigations within legal frameworks, under the oversight of the Iraqi judiciary.
