شهدت مدينة هات ياي بجنوب تايلند مأساة صادمة، بعدما لقيت ساسيفات سينساموسورن مديرة مدرسة باتونغبراثانكيريوات، مصرعها فجر اليوم (الخميس) بعد أن حاولت حماية طلابها أثناء هجوم مسلح عنيف داخل حرم المدرسة. ووفق ما أكدته الشرطة التايلندية، فقد اقتحم مسلح يبلغ من العمر 18 عامًا المدرسة، واستولى على سلاح ضابط، قبل أن يفتح النار على المديرة والطلاب والمعلمين. وأسفر الهجوم عن إصابة طالبة بجروح وصفت بالطفيفة، ونقل طالب آخر إلى المستشفى بعد أن قفز من نافذة هربًا من وابل الرصاص. وقالت الشرطة إن المهاجم له تاريخ من مشكلات الصحة العقلية وتعاطي المخدرات، واحتجز عددًا من الطلاب والمعلمين كرهائن لمدة ساعتين قبل أن يتم توقيفه، مشيرة إلى أنه أصيب بجروح خلال المواجهة مع عناصر الأمن. ولم تتضح بعد الدوافع الدقيقة وراء الهجوم، رغم تقارير محلية تشير إلى وجود خلاف سابق بين المشتبه به وأحد المعلمين. ومن جانبها، نعت المدرسة المديرة الراحلة في منشور على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، ووصفتها بأنها «توفت بطلة وهي تحاول حماية طلابها»، مضيفة أن «الذكريات واللطف الذي تركته سيبقى في قلوبنا إلى الأبد». يذكر أن حادثة إطلاق النار هذه تأتي في ظل تفاقم مشكلة انتشار الأسلحة النارية في تايلند، سواء المرخصة أو غير المرخصة، حيث شهدت البلاد عدة هجمات مماثلة خلال السنوات الأخيرة، ما يعكس تحديًا متزايدًا لأمن المدارس وسلامة الطلاب. In a social media post, the school mourned the late principal, describing her as "a hero who died trying to protect her students," adding that "the memories and kindness she left will remain in our hearts forever."
