أعلنت وزارة الدفاع السورية اليوم (الخميس) تسلم الجيش العربي السوري قاعدة التنف وأمّن محيطها. وقالت الوزارة في بيان اليوم: من خلال التنسيق بين الجانب السوري والجانب الأمريكي، قامت وحدات من الجيش العربي السوري باستلام قاعدة التنف، وتأمين القاعدة ومحيطها، وبدأت الانتشار على الحدود السورية العراقية الأردنية في بادية التنف، مضيفة: ستبدأ قوات حرس الحدود في الوزارة استلام مهامها، والانتشار في المنطقة خلال الأيام القادمة. وكانت وسائل إعلام سورية قد قالت أمس إن قوات التحالف الدولي ضد «داعش» نفذت منذ عدة أيام انسحاباً تدريجياً من قاعدة التنف، الواقعة على مثلث الحدود بين سوريا والعراق والأردن، وذلك عبر خروج عدد من الآليات والشاحنات التي تحمل معدات مختلفة باتجاه الداخل الأردني في خطوة تهدف إلى إخلائها بالكامل. وأشارت إلى أن الانسحاب تم بشكل تام، وعلى عدة أيام، بعد إجلاء كافة المعدات والآليات والأسلحة التي كانت موجودة داخل القاعدة التي تعتبر من أكبر القواعد في سورية نظراً لموقعها الجغرافي على مثلث يربط ثلاث دول وقدرتها على مراقبة الحدود السورية الإسرائيلية. وأسست الولايات المتحدة قاعدة التنف في بادية حمص في سورية عام 2016، على مقربة من معبر الوليد الحدودي في العراق، بهدف محاربة تنظيم «داعش» الإرهابي الذي كان يحتفظ بوجود كبير في البادية وعدد من المحافظات السورية أبرزها دير الزور والرقة، ولعبت القاعدة دوراً في الحد من التدخلات الدولية في سورية من خلال إشرافها على خط دمشق بغداد ومراقبة تحركات المليشيات إبان حكم نظام الأسد، بين كل من سورية والعراق والأردن. وتعرضت القاعدة لقصف جوي بطائرات مسيرة انتحارية أو عبر قذائف صاروخية لعدة مرات خلال السنوات الماضية. The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced today (Thursday) that the Syrian Arab Army has taken control of the Tanf base and secured its surroundings. The ministry stated in a statement today: Through coordination between the Syrian and American sides, units of the Syrian Arab Army have taken over the Tanf base, secured the base and its surroundings, and began deploying along the Syrian-Iraqi-Jordanian border in the Tanf desert. It added: The border guard forces in the ministry will begin taking on their tasks and deploying in the area in the coming days. Syrian media reported yesterday that the international coalition forces against "ISIS" had carried out a gradual withdrawal from the Tanf base several days ago, located at the triangle border between Syria, Iraq, and Jordan, by moving a number of vehicles and trucks carrying various equipment towards the interior of Jordan in a step aimed at completely vacating it. It was noted that the withdrawal was completed over several days, after evacuating all equipment, vehicles, and weapons that were present inside the base, which is considered one of the largest bases in Syria due to its geographical location at a triangle connecting three countries and its ability to monitor the Syrian-Israeli border. The United States established the Tanf base in the Homs desert in Syria in 2016, near the Al-Waleed border crossing in Iraq, with the aim of fighting the terrorist organization "ISIS," which had a significant presence in the desert and several Syrian provinces, most notably Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa. The base played a role in limiting international interventions in Syria by overseeing the Damascus-Baghdad route and monitoring the movements of militias during the rule of the Assad regime, between Syria, Iraq, and Jordan.
