استكمل رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) جياني إنفانتينو إجراءات استخراج الجنسية اللبنانية، بعدما أتمّ اليوم (الإثنين) إجراءات البصمة له ولعائلته في مقر وزارة الداخلية والبلديات، بحضور وزير الداخلية أحمد الحجار، ورئيس الاتحاد اللبناني لكرة القدم هاشم حيدر، والأمين العام للاتحاد جهاد الشحف، على أن يتسلّم هويته اللبنانية في وقت لاحق، ليصبح «إنفانتينو» مواطناً لبنانياً رسمياً، وفق ما نشرته صحيفة «النهار». وخلال اللقاء، قدّم إنفانتينو للحجّار قميصاً رسمياً من الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) حمل اسمه، إلى جانب هدية تذكارية من الاتحاد، في لفتة تعبّر عن عمق العلاقات والتقدير المتبادل.
وأعرب إنفانتينو عن محبته للبنان واعتزازه بزيارته، مؤكداً حرصه على دعم كرة القدم اللبنانية وتعزيز التعاون مع الاتحاد اللبناني، فيما شدّد حيدر على أهمية هذه الزيارة ودورها في تعزيز حضور لبنان على الساحة الرياضية الدولية.
ومن المقرر أن يعقد إنفانتينو سلسلة لقاءات رسمية تشمل رئيس الجمهورية جوزف عون، ورئيس الحكومة نواف سلام، إضافة إلى لقاء مع وزيرة الشباب والرياضة نورا بيراقدريان، قبل أن يتوجه مباشرة إلى المطار ليلاً بعد اختتام زيارته.
The President of the International Football Federation (FIFA) Gianni Infantino has completed the procedures for obtaining Lebanese citizenship, after he and his family completed the fingerprinting process today (Monday) at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, in the presence of Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar, the President of the Lebanese Football Federation Hashem Haidar, and the Secretary-General of the Federation Jihad Al-Shahaf. He is set to receive his Lebanese identity later, officially becoming a Lebanese citizen, according to what was published by the newspaper "An-Nahar." During the meeting, Infantino presented Al-Hajjar with an official jersey from FIFA bearing his name, along with a commemorative gift from the federation, in a gesture that reflects the depth of the relationships and mutual appreciation.
Infantino expressed his love for Lebanon and pride in his visit, affirming his commitment to supporting Lebanese football and enhancing cooperation with the Lebanese Federation, while Haidar emphasized the importance of this visit and its role in strengthening Lebanon's presence on the international sports stage.
Infantino is scheduled to hold a series of official meetings, including with President Joseph Aoun, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and a meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports Nora Biraqdar, before heading directly to the airport at night after concluding his visit.
