Expected U.S. Attack This Weekend Meanwhile, CNN reported that U.S. officials said the American military "is on high alert to launch a strike against Iran this weekend," confirming that the White House received a briefing indicating the U.S. military could be ready to carry out an attack by the end of the week, following a notable buildup of air and naval forces in the region and the impending arrival of the second aircraft carrier, the "Gerald Ford," to the area. The network reported that one source pointed out that Trump expressed mixed views in private discussions between support and opposition to military action, as he consulted his aides and allies about the most suitable options available, noting that "it remains unclear whether he will make a final decision before the end of the week." One source indicated that Trump "is spending a lot of time thinking about this matter."
