Urgent Intervention and Transfer to a Care Home The rapid intervention teams from the Ministry of Social Solidarity acted immediately upon noticing her case and transferred engineer Leila to "Dar Al-Khair," affiliated with the Human Relations Association, to receive comprehensive medical care and psychological and social support. The ministry confirmed that the response comes within the framework of the state's commitment to protecting the most vulnerable groups, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in reporting such cases, which enhances integration between citizens and state institutions. From Anshas Laboratories to the Streets of Giza Engineer Leila Ibrahim Hassan worked for years at the Atomic Energy Authority in Anshas, dedicating her life to a precise scientific field, before finding herself homeless about seven months ago. According to her account, she rented an apartment in the Tahrmas area of Giza Governorate eight years ago for a monthly rent of 1200 Egyptian pounds, with a periodic increase of 10% every two years. However, she was surprised seven months ago when the landlord demanded an increase in the rent to a higher amount or to vacate the apartment, amid the significant rise in rental prices and increased demand for housing units in the area. She confirmed that she refused to leave or accept the new amount, only to be shocked—according to her—by the invasion of the apartment and the changing of the locks, which deprived her of her home and forced her to live on the street.
