أعلن الجيش الإسرائيلي، اليوم (الإثنين)، تدمير طائرة قال إنها كانت تُستخدم من قبل المرشد الإيراني الراحل علي خامنئي وكبار المسؤولين في النظام الإيراني، خلال ضربة جوية استهدفت مطار مهرآباد في العاصمة طهران. وتأتي العملية في سياق التصعيد العسكري المستمر منذ اندلاع المواجهة بين إيران من جهة، والولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل من جهة أخرى.
ضربة دقيقة في مطار مهرآباد
وقال الجيش الإسرائيلي في بيان إن العملية نُفذت خلال ساعات الليل، مؤكداً أن الضربة استهدفت بشكل دقيق الطائرة التي كان يستخدمها خامنئي ومسؤولون عسكريون وسياسيون بارزون في النظام الإيراني.
وأضاف البيان أن الطائرة كانت تُستخدم في رحلات داخلية وخارجية لنقل كبار المسؤولين، إضافة إلى دورها في إدارة العلاقات مع الدول الحليفة وتنسيق صفقات التسلح.
أصل إستراتيجي للنظام الإيراني
واعتبر الجيش الإسرائيلي أن تدمير الطائرة يمثل خسارة إستراتيجية للنظام الإيراني، إذ كانت تُعد وسيلة مهمة لقيادة النظام في التنسيق مع ما وصفه بـ«دول المحور»، إضافة إلى دورها في دعم الجهود العسكرية وبناء القدرات الدفاعية.
وأكد البيان أن هذه الضربة من شأنها إضعاف قدرة القيادة الإيرانية على إدارة علاقاتها العسكرية واللوجستية مع حلفائها، وكذلك التأثير على جهود إعادة بناء القدرات العسكرية.
مطار مدني بمهمات مزدوجة
ويُعد مطار مهرآباد أحد أقدم مطارات طهران، ويخدم حالياً الرحلات الداخلية والإقليمية داخل إيران. وعلى الرغم من طابعه المدني، فإنه يُعد أيضاً منشأة ذات استخدام مزدوج، إذ يضم مرافق وأصولاً تابعة للقوات الجوية الإيرانية، ما يجعله موقعاً ذا أهمية إستراتيجية.
تصعيد مستمر منذ بداية الحرب
وتأتي هذه الضربة ضمن سلسلة هجمات تشنها إسرائيل على أهداف داخل إيران منذ نهاية الشهر الماضي، في إطار عملية عسكرية تقول تل أبيب إن هدفها تقويض البرنامج الصاروخي الإيراني وإضعاف قدرات النظام العسكرية.
وكانت الضربات الافتتاحية للحملة العسكرية قد أسفرت عن مقتل المرشد الإيراني علي خامنئي وعدد من كبار القادة العسكريين، فيما أعلنت طهران لاحقاً انتخاب نجله مجتبى خامنئي مرشداً جديداً للبلاد، وسط تقارير متضاربة بشأن وضعه الصحي.
The Israeli army announced today (Monday) the destruction of an aircraft that it said was used by the late Iranian leader Ali Khamenei and senior officials in the Iranian regime during an airstrike targeting Mehrabad Airport in the capital Tehran. The Israeli army stated in a statement that the operation was carried out during the night, confirming that the strike precisely targeted the aircraft used by Khamenei and prominent military and political officials in the Iranian regime.
The statement added that the aircraft was used for domestic and international flights to transport senior officials, in addition to its role in managing relations with allied countries and coordinating arms deals.
Strategic Asset for the Iranian Regime
The Israeli army considered the destruction of the aircraft to be a strategic loss for the Iranian regime, as it was regarded as an important means for the regime's leadership to coordinate with what it described as "axis countries," in addition to its role in supporting military efforts and building defensive capabilities.
The statement emphasized that this strike would weaken the Iranian leadership's ability to manage its military and logistical relations with its allies, as well as impact efforts to rebuild military capabilities.
Civil Airport with Dual Missions
Mehrabad Airport is one of the oldest airports in Tehran and currently serves domestic and regional flights within Iran. Despite its civilian nature, it is also considered a dual-use facility, as it includes facilities and assets belonging to the Iranian Air Force, making it a site of strategic importance.
Ongoing Escalation Since the Start of the War
This strike is part of a series of attacks carried out by Israel on targets inside Iran since the end of last month, as part of a military operation that Tel Aviv claims aims to undermine the Iranian missile program and weaken the regime's military capabilities.
The initial strikes of the military campaign resulted in the death of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei and several senior military leaders, while Tehran later announced the election of his son Mojtaba Khamenei as the new leader of the country, amid conflicting reports regarding his health status.
