أعلنت دول أوروبية كبرى، اليوم (الخميس)، استعدادها للانضمام إلى الجهود المناسبة لضمان المرور الآمن عبر مضيق هرمز، مرحّبة بالدول التي تشارك في التخطيط التحضيري. ونددت بريطانيا وفرنسا وألمانيا وإيطاليا وهولندا واليابان، في بيان مشترك، بالهجمات التي شنتها إيران، داعية إلى وقفها على الفور. وأشار البيان إلى أنها ستتعاون مع بعض الدول المنتجة للطاقة لزيادة الإنتاج وتحقيق الاستقرار في الأسواق، مبينة عزمها اتخاذ خطوات من أجل استقرار أسواق الطاقة. ورحب البيان بالسحب من الاحتياطيات الإستراتيجية للنفط، مضيفاً: «سنتخذ خطوات أخرى من أجل استقرار أسواق الطاقة، بما في ذلك العمل مع دول منتجة بعينها لزيادة الإنتاج». وأشار البيان إلى العمل على تقديم الدعم للدول الأكثر تضرراً بما في ذلك من خلال الأمم المتحدة والمؤسسات المالية الدولية. من جهة أخرى، قال وزير الخزانة الأمريكي سكوت بيسنت إن الولايات المتحدة قد تلجأ إلى رفع العقوبات عن النفط الإيراني الموجود في عرض البحر وأضاف بيسنت في مقابلة صحفية: النفط الإيراني المتاح حالياً في عرض البحر يقدَّر بنحو 140 مليون برميل، وهو ما يكفي لمدة تراوح بين 10 أيام و14 يوماً من الإمدادات، موضحاً أن هذه الخطوة ستسهم في استخدام النفط الإيراني الموجود في البحر ضد الإيرانيين أنفسهم، للمساعدة في إبقاء الأسعار منخفضة مؤقتاً خلال الأيام الـ10 إلى الـ14 القادمة في ظل استمرار اضطرابات السوق بسبب إغلاق مضيق هرمز وهجمات طهران على الشحن التجاري. Major European countries announced today (Thursday) their readiness to join appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, welcoming the countries participating in the preparatory planning. Britain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Japan condemned the attacks launched by Iran in a joint statement, calling for an immediate halt to them. The statement noted that they will cooperate with some energy-producing countries to increase production and stabilize markets, indicating their intention to take steps for the stability of energy markets. The statement welcomed the drawdown from strategic oil reserves, adding: “We will take further steps for the stability of energy markets, including working with specific producing countries to increase production.” The statement mentioned efforts to provide support to the most affected countries, including through the United Nations and international financial institutions. On the other hand, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Piesen stated that the United States may resort to lifting sanctions on Iranian oil located at sea.
