أطلق أمين منطقة الباحة الدكتور علي بن محمد السواط مبادرة إرث الباحة الخضراء، بحضور مدير عام فرع وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة بالمنطقة المهندس فهد مفتاح، وعدد من مسؤولي الإدارات الحكومية والجمعيات غير الربحية وأكثر من 700 متطوع.
وتهدف المبادرة إلى زراعة أكثر من 20 ألف شتلة محلية في مدينة الباحة والمحافظات التابعة لها تشمل المسارات المخصصة للمشاة؛ والحدائق والميادين العامة والجزر الوسطية بين الطرق؛ ما يسهم في تعزيز الاستدامة البيئية وتحسين جودة الحياة.
وأوضح السواط أن 11 جهة حكومية وأهلية، تشارك في مبادرة إرث الباحة الخضراء، مؤكدا تكامل جهود مختلف الجهات في تنفيذ المبادرة بدعم من فرق تطوعية تقودها الأمانة بمشاركة واسعة من المتطوعين، مشيراً إلى أن مبادرات التشجير تتم وفق أفضل أساليب الري الحديثة بما يسهم في ترشيد استهلاك المياه العذبة ورفع نسبة استخدام المياه المعالجة في ري الأشجار إلى أكثر من 85 % إلى جانب التوسع في زيادة المسطحات الخضراء وتحقيق كفاءة مالية في التشغيل والصيانة من خلال تقنيات الري الذكية.
The Secretary of the Al-Baha Region, Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Al-Suwat, launched the Green Al-Baha Heritage Initiative, in the presence of the Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture branch in the region, Engineer Fahd Muftah, along with a number of officials from government departments, non-profit associations, and more than 700 volunteers.
The initiative aims to plant more than 20,000 local seedlings in the city of Al-Baha and its affiliated governorates, including designated pedestrian paths, parks, public squares, and medians between roads; contributing to enhancing environmental sustainability and improving quality of life.
Al-Suwat explained that 11 governmental and private entities are participating in the Green Al-Baha Heritage Initiative, emphasizing the integration of efforts from various entities in implementing the initiative, supported by volunteer teams led by the municipality with wide participation from volunteers. He pointed out that the afforestation initiatives are carried out using the best modern irrigation methods, which helps in rationalizing the consumption of fresh water and increasing the use of treated water for irrigating trees to over 85%, in addition to expanding green spaces and achieving financial efficiency in operation and maintenance through smart irrigation technologies.
