أعلنت شركة إيطالية، اليوم، اكتشاف غاز طبيعي ومكثفات مهمة في المياه العميقة قبالة السواحل المصرية بشرق البحر المتوسط، في خطوة جديدة تعزز من مكانة مصر مركزاً إقليمياً للطاقة. وقالت الشركة في بيان رسمي: «إن بئر الاستكشاف «دينيس دبليو 1» التي حُفرت ضمن امتياز التمساح، نجحت في كشف احتياطيات أولية تقدر بنحو تريليوني قدم مكعب من الغاز الطبيعي في المكان، إضافة إلى نحو 130 مليون برميل من المكثفات المصاحبة». تطور سريع ويقع الاكتشاف على بُعد حوالى 70 كيلومتراً من الساحل، في أعماق مياه تصل إلى 95 متراً فقط، وهو ما يبعد أقل من 10 كيلومترات عن البنية التحتية القائمة. ويُتوقع أن يسمح هذا القرب بتطوير سريع وفعال من حيث التكلفة؛ ما يعزز قدرة مصر على زيادة إنتاج الغاز الطبيعي وتعزيز الأمن الطاقي المحلي والإقليمي. وأكدت الشركة أن الاكتشاف يعكس الإمكانات الكبيرة للطبقات الرسوبية في هذه المنطقة، ويأتي ضمن حملة استكشافية نشطة في امتياز التمساح الذي يُعد أحد الامتيازات الرئيسية للشركة في المياه المصرية. ويأتي هذا الاكتشاف الجديد في ظل جهود الحكومة المصرية لزيادة الإنتاج المحلي لتلبية الطلب المتزايد على الطاقة، وتعويض أي تراجع في بعض الحقول القديمة، مع الاستفادة من موقع مصر الاستراتيجي لتصدير الغاز إلى أوروبا وأسواق أخرى. An Italian company announced today the discovery of significant natural gas and condensates in deep waters off the Egyptian coast in the eastern Mediterranean, in a new step that strengthens Egypt's position as a regional energy hub. The company stated in an official announcement: "The exploration well 'Dennis W 1', drilled within the Timsah concession, has successfully revealed initial reserves estimated at about two trillion cubic feet of natural gas in the area, in addition to approximately 130 million barrels of associated condensates." Rapid Development The discovery is located about 70 kilometers from the coast, in waters that reach a depth of only 95 meters, which is less than 10 kilometers from the existing infrastructure. This proximity is expected to allow for rapid and cost-effective development, enhancing Egypt's ability to increase natural gas production and strengthen local and regional energy security. The company confirmed that the discovery reflects the significant potential of the sedimentary layers in this area and comes as part of an active exploration campaign in the Timsah concession, which is one of the company's main concessions in Egyptian waters. This new discovery comes amid the Egyptian government's efforts to increase local production to meet the growing energy demand and compensate for any decline in some older fields, while leveraging Egypt's strategic location to export gas to Europe and other markets.
