لم يكن السياسي التركي أورهان أفجي يتوقع أن يتحول ظهوره السياسي الأول إلى موجة ضحك وانتشار عالمي، لا بسبب خطاباته أو برامجه الحزبية، بل بسبب تفصيلة واحدة في مظهره خطفت الأضواء بالكامل، وهي: شارب يوصف بأنه «الأكثر كثافة في عالم السياسة الحديثة». بدأت القصة عندما جرى تعيين أفجي رئيساً لحزب «هوزور» في منطقة كارليوفا بولاية بينغول (شرقي تركيا)، إذ نشر الحزب صورة رسمية له إلى جانب رئيس الفرع المحلي سايت موكو، احتفالاً بالتعيين الجديد وترويجاً لشعار الحزب «كلمة جديدة، صوت جديد». لكن الصورة خرجت عن سياقها السياسي تماماً. فبدل أن يلتفت المتابعون إلى الرسائل السياسية أو أهداف الحزب، انشغل الجميع بتفصيل واحد فقط: شارب أورهان أفجي الضخم الذي يغطي الجزء السفلي من وجهه بالكامل، حتى إنه يكاد يخفي فمه تماماً. هذا المشهد غير التقليدي فتح الباب أمام سيل من التعليقات على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، إذ وصفه البعض بأنه يبدو كـ«زعيم أشرار في ألعاب الفيديو»، في إشارة إلى ملامحه الحادة التي تشبه شخصيات المواجهة النهائية في الألعاب الإلكترونية. وتداول مستخدمون آخرون تعليقات ساخرة حول تفاصيل حياته اليومية، متسائلين كيف يمكنه الأكل أو التحدث بسهولة، فيما شبّهه آخرون بشكل فكاهي بقطعة «كمامة» طبيعية تغطي جزءاً كبيراً من وجهه. ورغم أن أفجي يطمح إلى لعب دور سياسي داخل منطقته، إلا أن صورته الأولى كانت كفيلة بتحويله إلى مادة عالمية للتداول والترفيه، متجاوزاً حدود بينغول إلى فضاء واسع من التفاعل الرقمي. وبينما كان الهدف من الصورة هو إبراز مشروع سياسي جديد، أصبح الشارب هو «البيان غير الرسمي» الذي تصدر المشهد، وجعل اسم أورهان أفجي ينتشر أسرع من أي خطاب انتخابي. The Turkish politician Orhan Avcı did not expect his first political appearance to turn into a wave of laughter and global attention, not because of his speeches or party programs, but due to one detail in his appearance that completely stole the spotlight: a mustache described as "the thickest in the world of modern politics." The story began when Avcı was appointed as the head of the "Huzur" party in the Karlıova district of Bingöl province (eastern Turkey), as the party published an official photo of him alongside the local branch president, Sait Moku, to celebrate the new appointment and promote the party's slogan "A New Word, A New Voice." However, the photo completely deviated from its political context. Instead of followers focusing on the political messages or the party's goals, everyone became preoccupied with just one detail: Orhan Avcı's enormous mustache that covers the lower part of his face entirely, to the point that it almost completely hides his mouth. This unconventional scene opened the door to a flood of comments on social media platforms, with some describing him as looking like a "villain in video games," referring to his sharp features that resemble final boss characters in video games. Other users circulated sarcastic comments about the details of his daily life, questioning how he could eat or speak easily, while others humorously compared him to a piece of "mask" that covers a large part of his face. Although Avcı aspires to play a political role within his region, his first image was enough to turn him into global material for circulation and entertainment, transcending the borders of Bingöl to a vast space of digital interaction. While the aim of the photo was to highlight a new political project, the mustache became the "unofficial statement" that took center stage, making Orhan Avcı's name spread faster than any electoral speech.
