قرر المجلس الأعلى لتنظيم الإعلام في مصر، برئاسة المهندس خالد عبدالعزيز، إلزام قناة «مودرن إم تي أي» بدفع غرامة مالية قدرها 100 ألف جنيه مصري، ومنع ظهور الإعلامي هاني حتحوت، مقدم برنامج «مودرن سبورت»، على جميع الوسائل الإعلامية الخاضعة لقانون تنظيم الصحافة والإعلام لمدة 21 يوماً.
جاء القرار بناءً على نتائج تحقيقات لجنة الشكاوى بالمجلس، التي استمعت إلى الممثل القانوني للقناة، وأثبتت مخالفة مقدم البرنامج للأكواد والمعايير المهنية والأخلاقية الصادرة عن المجلس، في الشكوى التي تقدم بها النادي الأهلي ضد محتوى حلقة من البرنامج.
وأكد المجلس الأعلى لتنظيم الإعلام في بيانه أن العقوبة تهدف إلى الحفاظ على معايير المهنية الإعلامية، خصوصاً في التغطية الرياضية التي تثير حساسيات جماهيرية كبيرة.
يُعد المجلس الأعلى لتنظيم الإعلام الجهة الرسمية المسؤولة عن تنظيم قطاع الإعلام المرئي والمسموع والإلكتروني في مصر، وفقاً للقانون رقم 180 لسنة 2018.
ويمتلك المجلس صلاحيات واسعة تشمل فرض غرامات مالية، وإيقاف برامج، ومنع ظهور إعلاميين لفترات محددة عند ثبوت مخالفات للأكواد الإعلامية المتعلقة بالحيادية، عدم التحريض، احترام المؤسسات، وتجنب الإساءة للأندية أو الشخصيات العامة.
وقناة «مودرن إم تي أي» هي قناة حديثة نسبياً، ويعد برنامج «مودرن سبورت» الذي يقدمه الإعلامي هاني حتحوت من البرامج الرياضية التي تناقش أحداث الدوري المصري والأندية الكبرى، خصوصاً ناديي الأهلي والزمالك.
ويأتي هذا القرار بعد أيام قليلة فقط من انطلاق القناة، مما يعكس حرص المجلس على تطبيق المعايير منذ البداية، إذ كانت لجنة الشكاوى برئاسة الإعلامي عصام الأمير، وكيل المجلس، قد تولت التحقيق في الشكوى المقدمة من النادي الأهلي، قبل إصدار التوصية النهائية.
The Supreme Council for Media Regulation in Egypt, chaired by Engineer Khaled Abdelaziz, has mandated the "Modern M.T.I" channel to pay a financial fine of 100,000 Egyptian pounds and has prohibited the appearance of the media personality Hani Hathout, host of the "Modern Sport" program, on all media outlets subject to the Press and Media Regulation Law for a period of 21 days.
The decision came based on the results of the investigations conducted by the Complaints Committee of the council, which listened to the legal representative of the channel and confirmed that the program host violated the codes and professional and ethical standards issued by the council, in the complaint submitted by Al Ahly Club regarding the content of an episode of the program.
The Supreme Council for Media Regulation confirmed in its statement that the penalty aims to maintain standards of media professionalism, especially in sports coverage that stirs significant public sensitivities.
The Supreme Council for Media Regulation is the official body responsible for regulating the visual, audio, and electronic media sector in Egypt, according to Law No. 180 of 2018.
The council has broad powers that include imposing financial fines, suspending programs, and banning the appearance of media personalities for specified periods when violations of media codes related to neutrality, non-incitement, respect for institutions, and avoiding insults to clubs or public figures are proven.
The "Modern M.T.I" channel is relatively new, and the "Modern Sport" program hosted by media personality Hani Hathout is one of the sports programs that discusses events in the Egyptian league and major clubs, particularly Al Ahly and Zamalek.
This decision comes just a few days after the channel's launch, reflecting the council's commitment to applying standards from the outset, as the Complaints Committee, chaired by media personality Essam Al-Amir, the council's deputy, had investigated the complaint submitted by Al Ahly Club before issuing the final recommendation.
