أعلنت شركة «قوقل» أمس (الثلاثاء)، خلال فعالية Android Show: I/O Edition، عن مجموعة متكاملة من التحديثات الأمنية الجديدة لنظام «أندرويد»، في خطوة نوعية تهدف إلى رفع مستوى الحماية ضد عمليات الاحتيال الرقمي المتطورة وسرقة البيانات الشخصية والمصرفية.
وتأتي هذه التحديثات استجابة لتزايد الهجمات الاحتيالية التي تستهدف المستخدمين يومياً، خصوصاً تلك التي تعتمد على انتحال هوية البنوك والمؤسسات المالية.
مواجهة مباشرة
ومن أبرز الميزات الجديدة، أطلقت «قوقل» نظاماً متقدماً للتصدي لمكالمات الاحتيال التي ينتحل فيها المحتالون صفة البنوك باستخدام تقنيات انتحال أرقام الهواتف (Spoofing).
ويعتمد النظام على شراكات إستراتيجية مع بنوك ومؤسسات مالية رائدة، ويقوم تلقائياً بالتحقق من هوية المتصل، فإذا اشتبه في أن المكالمة مزيفة، يقطعها النظام فوراً ويرسل إشعاراً تحذيرياً واضحاً للمستخدم ليتنبه إلى محاولة الاحتيال.
ومن المقرر أن يبدأ طرح هذه الميزة خلال الأسابيع القليلة القادمة على جميع الأجهزة العاملة بنظام «أندرويد 11» فما فوق، بدءاً من بنوك Revolut وItaú وNubank، على أن يتم توسيع قائمة الدعم تدريجياً ليشمل المزيد من المؤسسات المالية حول العالم.
تطوير «Live Threat Detection»
كما حصلت ميزة «الكشف المباشر عن التهديدات» (Live Threat Detection) على تحسينات جذرية تعتمد على الذكاء الاصطناعي والمراقبة الديناميكية لسلوك التطبيقات.
وتستطيع التقنية الجديدة رصد الأنشطة المشبوهة في الوقت الفعلي، مثل إعادة توجيه الرسائل النصية إلى أطراف خارجية، أو استغلال صلاحيات إمكانية الوصول (Accessibility) بطريقة غير طبيعية لقراءة الشاشة أو التحكم فيها خلسة.
ومن المتوقع أن تصل هذه التحسينات المتقدمة إلى الأجهزة العاملة بنظام «أندرويد 17» خلال النصف الثاني من العام الجاري.
حماية أقوى
وفي إطار تعزيز الأمان المادي للأجهزة، طورت «قوقل» آليات جديدة لحماية الهواتف المسروقة، أبرزها ميزة «قفل المصادقة الفاشلة» المحسنة.
وستتيح هذه الميزة للمستخدم قفل الجهاز بسرعة باستخدام الوسائل البيومترية (بصمة الإصبع أو التعرف على الوجه)، إضافة إلى الطرق التقليدية. وفي حال الإبلاغ عن فقدان الجهاز، سيتم تقييد الوصول إليه بشكل كامل حتى يقوم المالك الأصلي بالتحقق البيومتري.
خصوصية أفضل
أما على صعيد الخصوصية، فقدمت «قوقل» أداة جديدة تسمح بمشاركة الموقع الدقيق بشكل مؤقت فقط أثناء استخدام التطبيق، مما يمنع التطبيقات من الاحتفاظ ببيانات الموقع بشكل دائم، ويحافظ في الوقت نفسه على تجربة مستخدم سلسة في المهمات اليومية مثل طلب خدمة أو البحث عن مكان قريب.
وتُعد هذه الحزمة الأمنية الجديدة من أقوى الخطوات التي اتخذتها «قوقل» حتى الآن لتحويل «أندرويد» إلى نظام أكثر أماناً وثقة، خصوصاً في مواجهة التهديدات المتطورة التي يتعرض لها المستخدمون يومياً.
Google announced yesterday (Tuesday), during the Android Show: I/O Edition event, a comprehensive set of new security updates for the Android system, in a qualitative step aimed at enhancing protection against sophisticated digital fraud and the theft of personal and banking data.
These updates come in response to the increasing number of fraudulent attacks targeting users daily, especially those that rely on impersonating banks and financial institutions.
Direct Confrontation
Among the most notable new features, Google has launched an advanced system to combat fraudulent calls where scammers impersonate banks using phone number spoofing techniques.
The system relies on strategic partnerships with leading banks and financial institutions, and it automatically verifies the caller's identity. If it suspects that the call is fraudulent, the system immediately disconnects it and sends a clear warning notification to the user to alert them to the attempted fraud.
This feature is set to be rolled out in the coming weeks on all devices running Android 11 and above, starting with banks such as Revolut, Itaú, and Nubank, with plans to gradually expand the support list to include more financial institutions worldwide.
Enhancements to Live Threat Detection
The Live Threat Detection feature has also received significant improvements based on artificial intelligence and dynamic monitoring of application behavior.
The new technology can detect suspicious activities in real-time, such as redirecting text messages to external parties or exploiting accessibility permissions in an abnormal way to read or control the screen covertly.
These advanced improvements are expected to reach devices running Android 17 in the second half of this year.
Stronger Protection
As part of enhancing the physical security of devices, Google has developed new mechanisms to protect stolen phones, the most notable of which is the improved "Failed Authentication Lock" feature.
This feature will allow users to quickly lock their device using biometric methods (fingerprint or facial recognition), in addition to traditional methods. In the event of reporting the device as lost, access will be completely restricted until the original owner verifies their identity biometrically.
Better Privacy
On the privacy front, Google has introduced a new tool that allows for temporary sharing of precise location only while using the app, preventing apps from permanently retaining location data while maintaining a smooth user experience for daily tasks like requesting a service or searching for a nearby place.
This new security package is one of the strongest steps Google has taken so far to transform Android into a more secure and trustworthy system, especially in the face of the evolving threats users encounter daily.
