For many years, the file remained suspended without any progress, until the "false miracle" in 2019: The shocking document: Official documents indicating the death of the accused reached the authorities. Case closure: The papers included a death certificate issued by a health authority, leading to the file being closed permanently on the grounds that the killer had escaped justice by dying. The police trick... The "dead" lives in Baghdad But what happened next seemed closer to a Hollywood movie plot, as secret intelligence information began to raise suspicions about the "fugitive dead." Thorough investigations led to the shocking revelation that the man was still alive, living undercover in the Mahmoudiya area south of Baghdad, far from prying eyes, while everyone believed he was under the ground. After his arrest, the accused confessed fully to his crime and made a confession that shook the investigators: his brother (the victim's husband) was his partner in the plan! He helped him forge the official death documents to convince the authorities of his death and completely close the case to escape prosecution.
