أثار مقطع فيديو متداول على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي حالة من الجدل والقلق بين سكان مدينة حدائق أكتوبر في مصر، بعدما وثق ظهور مجموعة من الثعالب وهي تتجول بحرية داخل شوارع أحد المجمعات السكنية خلال ساعات الليل.
وأظهر الفيديو، الذي حظي بتفاعل واسع عبر منصات التواصل، عدة ثعالب تتحرك بين العمارات السكنية والسيارات المتوقفة، في مشهد وصفه السكان بأنه غير معتاد داخل منطقة مأهولة بالسكان.
وقال سكان بالمنطقة إن ظهور الثعالب لم يكن حادثة فردية، بل تكرر خلال الأسابيع الأخيرة، خاصة في ساعات الليل المتأخرة، ما أثار مخاوف تتعلق بسلامة الأطفال والحيوانات الأليفة.
كما أرجع بعض الأهالي الظاهرة إلى قرب المنطقة من الامتدادات الصحراوية وتوافر مصادر غذاء تجذب الحيوانات البرية، مثل القمامة ومخلفات الطعام.
ويرى متابعون وخبراء بيئيون أن التوسع العمراني المتسارع في مدن غرب القاهرة، ومنها حدائق أكتوبر ومدينة 6 أكتوبر والشيخ زايد، أدى إلى تقارب أكبر بين المناطق السكنية والموائل الطبيعية للحياة البرية، ما يزيد من احتمالات ظهور حيوانات مثل الثعالب داخل التجمعات السكنية.
وبحسب متخصصين في الحياة البرية، فإن الثعالب عادة ما تتجنب الاحتكاك المباشر بالبشر ولا تمثل خطرًا كبيرًا في الظروف الطبيعية، إلا أن اقترابها من المناطق السكنية قد يثير مخاوف صحية وبيئية، خاصة إذا وجدت مصادر غذاء متاحة بشكل مستمر، كما أن القمامة المكشوفة ومخلفات الطعام تعد من أبرز العوامل التي تشجع هذه الحيوانات على الاقتراب من المناطق المأهولة.

A video clip circulating on social media has sparked a wave of controversy and concern among residents of the October Gardens city in Egypt, after it documented a group of foxes roaming freely in the streets of a residential complex during the night hours.
The video, which received widespread interaction across social media platforms, showed several foxes moving between residential buildings and parked cars, in a scene described by residents as unusual in a populated area.
Residents in the area stated that the appearance of the foxes was not an isolated incident, but had recurred over the past few weeks, especially during late-night hours, raising concerns about the safety of children and pets.
Some locals attributed the phenomenon to the area's proximity to desert extensions and the availability of food sources that attract wild animals, such as garbage and food waste.
Observers and environmental experts believe that the rapid urban expansion in the cities of West Cairo, including October Gardens, 6th of October City, and Sheikh Zayed, has led to greater proximity between residential areas and the natural habitats of wildlife, increasing the likelihood of animals like foxes appearing within residential communities.
According to wildlife specialists, foxes typically avoid direct contact with humans and do not pose a significant threat under normal circumstances; however, their proximity to residential areas may raise health and environmental concerns, especially if they find readily available food sources. Open garbage and food waste are among the main factors encouraging these animals to approach populated areas.
