تحولت زغاريد الفرح بغتة إلى صرخات صدمة وعويل، بعدما غيّب الموت ستة أفراد من عائلة واحدة إثر سقوط سيارتهم في مجرى ترعة المريوطية بمحافظة الجيزة، في حادث مأساوي وقع أثناء توجههم لحضور حفل زفاف، ليتشح أهالي المنطقة بالسواد حزناً على الفاجعة.
وكانت الأجهزة الأمنية قد تلقت بلاغاً عاجلاً يفيد بانقلاب سيارة ملاكي داخل المجرى المائي بنطاق مركز البدرشين، لتنتقل على الفور قوات الحماية المدنية والإنقاذ النهري رفقة أسطول من سيارات الإسعاف في سباق مع الزمن لإنقاذ مستقليها.
وكشفت المعاينة الأولية عن تفاصيل اللحظات الأخيرة المرعبة؛ إذ كانت السيارة تُقل سبعة أشخاص من أسرة واحدة، وأثناء سيرهم اختلت عجلة القيادة بشكل مفاجئ في يد السائق، ما أدى إلى انحرافها الحاد وسقوطها في عمق المياه.
وفيما نجحت جهود الإنقاذ في انتشال شخص واحد ونقله إلى المستشفى في حالة حرجة بين الحياة والموت، لقي الستة الآخرون حتفهم غرقاً.
وعقب انتشال الجثامين ورفع حطام السيارة لإعادة الحركة المرورية، تولت النيابة العامة التحقيق في الواقعة وصرحت بدفن الضحايا بعد انتهاء الإجراءات القانونية، ليواري الثرى جثامين العائلة، في جنازة مهيبة ومفجعة شيعها الآلاف من الأهالي في وداع أخير لم يدر بخلد أحد أنه سيكون بديلاً عن ليلة الزفاف.
The joyful cheers suddenly turned into screams of shock and wailing, after death claimed six members of one family when their car fell into the waterway of the Marioutiya Canal in Giza Governorate, in a tragic accident that occurred while they were on their way to attend a wedding, leaving the locals in mourning, dressed in black for the tragedy.
The security authorities had received an urgent report about a private car overturning in the waterway within the jurisdiction of the Badrashin Center, prompting the immediate deployment of civil protection and river rescue forces along with a fleet of ambulances in a race against time to save its occupants.
The initial examination revealed the terrifying details of the last moments; the car was carrying seven people from one family, and while they were driving, the steering wheel suddenly malfunctioned in the driver's hands, causing the car to veer sharply and fall into the depths of the water.
While rescue efforts succeeded in retrieving one person and transporting them to the hospital in critical condition, the other six drowned.
After the bodies were recovered and the wreckage of the car was removed to restore traffic flow, the public prosecution took over the investigation into the incident and authorized the burial of the victims after completing the legal procedures, allowing the family’s remains to be laid to rest in a grand and heartbreaking funeral attended by thousands of locals in a final farewell that no one could have imagined would replace the wedding night.
