أعرب وزير الخارجية الكويتي الشيخ جراح جابر الأحمد الصباح اليوم (الخميس)، عن تطلع دولة الكويت إلى أن تسهم مذكرة التفاهم المبرمة بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران في تعزيز الاستقرار بالمنطقة، وضمان أمن وحرية الملاحة في مضيق هرمز، ومعالجة القضايا العالقة من خلال التوصل إلى حلول مستدامة. جاء ذلك خلال اتصال هاتفي مع وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي، وفقاً لوكالة الأنباء الكويتية «كونا».

وشدد وزير الخارجية الكويتي على «أهمية أن تستند العلاقات بين الدول إلى مبادئ القانون الدولي والمقاصد السامية الواردة في ميثاق الأمم المتحدة»، مؤكداً ضرورة الالتزام بمبادئ حسن الجوار، واحترام سيادة الدول واستقلالها ووحدة أراضيها، وعدم التدخل في شؤونها الداخلية، والامتناع عن استخدام القوة أو التهديد بها، وتسوية الخلافات والنزاعات بالوسائل السلمية، والتوقف عن دعم الوكلاء، بما يسهم في ترسيخ الأمن والاستقرار، وتحقيق المصالح المشتركة لدول المنطقة وشعوبها.

بدوره، قال عراقجي إنه أكد خلال هذا الاتصال على أهمية الحوار مع دول الخليج العربية لمعالجة أي سوء فهم وتعزيز العلاقات في المنطقة، معرباً عن أمله في أن يسهم اتفاق إنهاء الحرب مع الولايات المتحدة في استعادة الأمن والاستقرار للمنطقة، وفقاً لما أوردته وكالة «رويترز».

The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrar Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah expressed today (Thursday) Kuwait's hope that the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran will contribute to enhancing stability in the region, ensuring the security and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and addressing outstanding issues through sustainable solutions. This came during a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, according to the Kuwait News Agency "KUNA".

The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister emphasized "the importance of basing relations between countries on the principles of international law and the noble purposes outlined in the United Nations Charter," stressing the necessity of adhering to the principles of good neighborliness, respecting the sovereignty and independence of states and their territorial integrity, refraining from interfering in their internal affairs, abstaining from the use of force or the threat thereof, settling disputes and conflicts by peaceful means, and stopping support for proxies, which contributes to consolidating security and stability and achieving the common interests of the countries in the region and their peoples.

For his part, Araghchi stated that he emphasized during this call the importance of dialogue with the Gulf Arab states to address any misunderstandings and enhance relations in the region, expressing hope that the agreement to end the war with the United States will contribute to restoring security and stability to the region, according to what was reported by "Reuters".
