أعلن نادي الزمالك حصوله على حكم نهائي من محكمة التحكيم الرياضية الدولية (CAS) لصالحه في القضية المرفوعة ضد الاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم (كاف)، بشأن العقوبة المالية التي وقعت على النادي عقب أحداث المباراة النهائية لبطولة كأس الكونفدرالية الأفريقية 2024 أمام نهضة بركان المغربي.
وأوضح الزمالك في بيان رسمي أن المحكمة قبلت الاستئناف المقدم من النادي، وقررت تخفيض الغرامة المالية المفروضة بنسبة 50%، لتتراجع من 200 ألف دولار إلى 100 ألف دولار، ما يمنح النادي أحقية استرداد مبلغ 100 ألف دولار، بما يعادل نحو 5 ملايين جنيه مصري.
وأشار النادي إلى أن الحكم جاء استناداً إلى الدفوع التي تقدم بها خلال مراحل التقاضي، التي تضمنت التأكيد على التزامه بتنظيم المباراة وعدم وجود وقائع مشابهة مرتبطة بالنادي خلال السنوات الماضية.
وكان الزمالك قد تعرض للعقوبة المالية على خلفية مشكلات تنظيمية خلال مراسم التتويج بلقب كأس الكونفدرالية قبل عامين، قبل أن ينجح في تخفيض قيمة الغرامة عبر المسار القضائي أمام المحكمة الرياضية الدولية.
ويأتي القرار في وقت تلقى الزمالك دفعة أخرى، بعدما وافق الاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم على تمديد المهلة الخاصة باستكمال إجراءات الحصول على التراخيص اللازمة للمشاركة في البطولات القارية بالموسم القادم.
ويواجه الزمالك في الوقت الحالي 18 قضية تتعلق بإيقاف القيد بسبب مستحقات مالية متأخرة للاعبين وأندية ومدربين، ويسعى للتوصل إلى تسويات قبل الموعد النهائي الجديد المحدد في 25 يوليو، من أجل ضمان استيفاء شروط المشاركة في دوري أبطال أفريقيا الموسم القادم.
وأكد عدد من مسؤولي النادي ثقتهم في قدرة الزمالك على المشاركة القارية، رغم استمرار ملف العقوبات المتعلقة بإيقاف القيد، في ظل التحركات الجارية لمعالجة الأزمات المالية والقانونية القائمة.
The Zamalek Club announced that it has received a final ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in its favor regarding the case filed against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) concerning the financial penalty imposed on the club following the events of the final match of the 2024 African Confederation Cup against Moroccan club RS Berkane.
Zamalek clarified in an official statement that the court accepted the appeal submitted by the club and decided to reduce the imposed financial fine by 50%, decreasing it from $200,000 to $100,000, which grants the club the right to recover the amount of $100,000, equivalent to about 5 million Egyptian pounds.
The club indicated that the ruling was based on the defenses presented during the litigation stages, which included affirming its commitment to organizing the match and the absence of similar incidents related to the club in previous years.
Zamalek had faced the financial penalty due to organizational issues during the awarding ceremony for the Confederation Cup title two years ago, before successfully reducing the penalty amount through legal proceedings before the international sports court.
The decision comes at a time when Zamalek received another boost, as the Confederation of African Football agreed to extend the deadline for completing the necessary licensing procedures to participate in continental competitions for the upcoming season.
Currently, Zamalek is facing 18 cases related to the suspension of player registrations due to overdue financial obligations to players, clubs, and coaches, and is seeking to reach settlements before the new deadline set for July 25, in order to ensure compliance with the conditions for participating in the African Champions League next season.
A number of club officials have expressed their confidence in Zamalek's ability to participate in continental competitions, despite the ongoing issues related to the suspension of registrations, amid ongoing efforts to address the existing financial and legal crises.
