أغلقت وزارة التجارة، بعد عمليات رصد وتحرٍّ، بمشاركة 8 جهات حكومية، 12 معملاً مخالفاً للمياه في جدة، وتم القبض على المخالفين، وإحالتهم إلى الجهات الأمنية لاستكمال الإجراءات النظامية، وتطبيق العقوبات الرادعة بحقهم. وكانت الفرق رصدت في المواقع مخالفات جسيمة تُشكّل خطورة على الصحة، تمثّلت في استخدام مياه مجهولة المصدر في عمليات الإنتاج، واستغلال شبكة المياه العامة، وتعبئة المياه بشكل مخالف. كما ثبت استخدام القائمين على تلك المعامل تراخيص بيع المياه المعبأة ومحال بيع التجزئة واجهةً صورية للنشاط، فيما كانت تجري خلفها عمليات إنتاج وتعبئة وتشغيل عبر خطوط إنتاج ومحطات مخالفة للأنظمة والاشتراطات الصحية. كما كشفت أعمال الضبط عدداً من المخالفات، شملت التستر التجاري، ومزاولة النشاط دون ترخيص، وعدم إصدار فواتير ضريبية، وعدم الالتزام بنظام العمل، إضافة إلى مخالفات تتعلّق باشتراطات شبكات المياه. The Ministry of Commerce, after monitoring and investigation operations involving 8 government agencies, closed 12 illegal water factories in Jeddah. The violators were arrested and referred to security authorities to complete legal procedures and apply punitive measures against them. The teams monitored serious violations that pose a danger to health, which included the use of water from unknown sources in production operations, exploitation of the public water network, and improper water filling. It was also confirmed that those operating these factories were using licenses for bottled water sales and retail outlets as a facade for their activities, while behind them, production, filling, and operation were taking place through production lines and stations that violated regulations and health requirements. Additionally, the enforcement actions revealed a number of violations, including commercial concealment, operating without a license, failure to issue tax invoices, non-compliance with labor regulations, as well as violations related to water network requirements.
