رفض رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي، بنيامين نتنياهو، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، سحب قواته من جنوب لبنان في ظل استمرار تهديدات حزب الله.
وأكّد نتنياهو خلال زيارته إلى قواته في جنوب لبنان أن إسرائيل ستبقى في جنوب لبنان طالما حزب الله مستمر في تهديداته، مضيفاً: «موقفنا واضح، لن نغادر جنوب لبنان حتى يزول التهديد، وما دام حزب الله موجوداً هنا ومسلحاً ويهددنا، فسنبقى هنا».
واعتبر أن المناطق الأمنية تغيير في المفاهيم، موضحاً أنه وجه بتدمير كل ما كان يستخدم للهجوم كالأنفاق والقرى.
وطالب نتنياهو بضرورة اعتراف لبنان بإسرائيل، قائلاً: «لبنان يعترف بإسرائيل وإسرائيل تعترف بلبنان، ونقول لإيران وحزب الله اخرجوا من هنا، فهناك دولتان تتمتعان بالسيادة تريدان العيش بسلام».
وشدد بالقول: «على حزب الله أن يرحل ولا مكان له في جنوب لبنان»، موضحاً أن إسرائيل ولبنان يسعيان لتحقيق السلام واستعادة الأمن والازدهار لسكانهما.
وكان الجيش الإسرائيلي قد قال إنه دمر بنية تحتية أسفل الأرض كانت تستخدمها جماعة حزب الله في قرية بجنوب لبنان.
وأظهرت صور أقمار صناعية تغيرات واسعة في بلدة مركبا جنوبي لبنان، مما يبين أن هناك دماراً واسعاً وأعمال تجريف داخل النطاق السكني ومحيطه.
في المقابل، التقى الرئيس اللبناني جوزيف عون قائد الجيش رودولف هيكل لبحث مهمات المؤسسة العسكرية في المرحلة القادمة، وبحسب الرئاسة اللبنانية فإن النقاش يدور حول آليات تنفيذ التفاهمات الميدانية وضبط الوضع الأمني في الجنوب.
The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, rejected today (Tuesday) the withdrawal of his forces from southern Lebanon amid ongoing threats from Hezbollah.
Netanyahu confirmed during his visit to his forces in southern Lebanon that Israel will remain in southern Lebanon as long as Hezbollah continues its threats, adding: "Our position is clear; we will not leave southern Lebanon until the threat is gone, and as long as Hezbollah is here armed and threatening us, we will stay here."
He considered that the security areas represent a change in concepts, explaining that he has directed the destruction of everything used for attacks, such as tunnels and villages.
Netanyahu called for Lebanon to recognize Israel, saying: "Lebanon recognizes Israel, and Israel recognizes Lebanon, and we say to Iran and Hezbollah to get out of here, as there are two sovereign states that want to live in peace."
He emphasized by saying: "Hezbollah must leave, and there is no place for it in southern Lebanon," clarifying that Israel and Lebanon are striving to achieve peace and restore security and prosperity for their residents.
The Israeli army had stated that it destroyed underground infrastructure used by Hezbollah in a village in southern Lebanon.
Satellite images showed extensive changes in the town of Markaba in southern Lebanon, indicating that there is widespread destruction and leveling within the residential area and its surroundings.
Meanwhile, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun met with Army Commander Rudolf Haikal to discuss the military institution's missions in the upcoming phase. According to the Lebanese presidency, the discussion revolves around the mechanisms for implementing field agreements and controlling the security situation in the south.
