لسنوات طويلة عاش شاب صيني مع معاناة جعلت فروة رأسه تبدو مختلفة بشكل لافت، بعدما ظهرت عليها طيات عميقة تشبه أنسجة الدماغ، في حالة نادرة أثرت على مظهره وحالته النفسية، قبل أن تمنحه جراحة معقدة فرصة لاستعادة مظهر طبيعي.
وخضع لي، البالغ من العمر 23 عامًا والمنحدر من مقاطعة هونان وسط الصين، لعملية جراحية ناجحة في مستشفى تشونغنان التابع لجامعة ووهان، بعد رحلة طويلة مع حالة جلدية نادرة حيّرت الأطباء لسنوات.
وبدأت معاناة لي قبل عدة أعوام عندما لاحظ تصلبًا غير معتاد في فروة رأسه، ومع مرور الوقت ازدادت سماكة الجلد وتوسعت المناطق المتأثرة، لتظهر طيات غير منتظمة تشبه تجاعيد الدماغ. وبحلول بلوغه الرابعة عشرة، كانت هذه الأنسجة قد غطت نحو نصف فروة رأسه، ما ترك أثرًا نفسيًا كبيرًا عليه.
وحاول لي البحث عن حل طبي، فتوجه إلى مستشفى محلي خضع فيه لمحاولة علاج عبر توسيع الجلد، لكنها لم تحقق النجاح المطلوب، كما تسببت في ظهور ندوب قللت من الخيارات الجراحية المتاحة لاحقًا. وعلى مدى سنوات، زار الشاب عدة مستشفيات، إلا أن الأطباء ترددوا في إجراء عمليات جديدة بسبب صعوبة الحالة ونقص الجلد السليم القابل للاستخدام.
وجاءت نقطة التحول عندما توجه إلى قسم الجراحة التجميلية في مستشفى تشونغنان، حيث شخص الأطباء حالته بأنها «تجعّد فروة الرأس»، وهي حالة نادرة تتميز بزيادة سماكة الأنسجة الرخوة في فروة الرأس، وتؤثر بشكل أساسي على الشكل الخارجي دون ارتباط واضح بأمراض أخرى.
ورغم عدم معرفة الأسباب الدقيقة للحالة، أوضح الأطباء أنها ليست عادةً حالة خلقية ولا ترتبط باضطرابات صحية كامنة، لكنها قد تسبب تأثيرًا نفسيًا كبيرًا بسبب تغير مظهر فروة الرأس.
ووضع الفريق الطبي خطة علاجية دقيقة اعتمدت على استغلال الندوب الموجودة لدى لي وتوسيع مناطق الجلد السليم تدريجيًا، بهدف توفير أنسجة كافية لتغطية المناطق التي ستزال خلال العملية النهائية.
وفي يوليو من العام الماضي، بدأت المرحلة الأولى من العلاج، حيث زرع الأطباء موسعات جلدية في موضعين من فروة رأسه، مع حقن سوائل بشكل دوري للمساعدة على تمدد الجلد السليم استعدادًا للجراحة النهائية. واستغرقت هذه المرحلة نحو 11 شهرًا حتى أصبح بالإمكان توفير كمية كافية من الأنسجة.
وأجرى الفريق الطبي مؤخرًا المرحلة الثانية من العملية، التي استغرقت نحو ثلاث ساعات، وشهدت إزالة الأنسجة غير الطبيعية وإعادة ترميم فروة الرأس، محققة نتائج إيجابية.
وبعد سنوات من المعاناة، أصبحت فروة رأس لي قادرة على نمو الشعر بشكل طبيعي، كما بات مظهرها قريبًا من فروة الرأس الطبيعية، في نهاية رحلة علاجية طويلة أعادت له الثقة بعد سنوات من التحديات.
For many years, a young Chinese man lived with a condition that made his scalp look remarkably different, as deep folds resembling brain tissue appeared on it, in a rare case that affected his appearance and mental state, before a complex surgery gave him a chance to regain a natural look.
Li, 23 years old and from Hunan Province in central China, underwent successful surgery at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, after a long journey with a rare skin condition that puzzled doctors for years.
Li's suffering began several years ago when he noticed unusual stiffness in his scalp, and over time, the skin thickened and the affected areas expanded, leading to irregular folds resembling brain wrinkles. By the time he turned fourteen, this tissue had covered about half of his scalp, leaving a significant psychological impact on him.
Li sought a medical solution and went to a local hospital where he underwent an attempt to treat it by expanding the skin, but it did not achieve the desired success and resulted in scarring that reduced the surgical options available later. Over the years, the young man visited several hospitals, but doctors hesitated to perform new surgeries due to the complexity of the condition and the lack of usable healthy skin.
The turning point came when he went to the plastic surgery department at Zhongnan Hospital, where doctors diagnosed his condition as "scalp wrinkling," a rare condition characterized by increased thickness of the soft tissues in the scalp, primarily affecting the external appearance without a clear connection to other diseases.
Although the exact causes of the condition are unknown, doctors clarified that it is not usually a congenital condition and is not associated with underlying health disorders, but it can cause significant psychological effects due to changes in the appearance of the scalp.
The medical team devised a precise treatment plan that relied on utilizing the existing scars on Li and gradually expanding the areas of healthy skin, aiming to provide enough tissue to cover the areas that would be removed during the final surgery.
In July of last year, the first phase of treatment began, where doctors implanted tissue expanders in two locations on his scalp, periodically injecting fluids to help stretch the healthy skin in preparation for the final surgery. This phase took about 11 months until a sufficient amount of tissue could be provided.
The medical team recently conducted the second phase of the operation, which lasted about three hours, involving the removal of the abnormal tissue and reconstruction of the scalp, achieving positive results.
After years of suffering, Li's scalp is now capable of growing hair normally, and its appearance has become close to that of a natural scalp, marking the end of a long treatment journey that restored his confidence after years of challenges.
