40 عاماً سجناً
في قضية وُصفت بالأخطر من نوعها، أصدرت الدائرة الجنائية بالمحكمة الابتدائية في تونس أحكاماً بالسجن راوحت بين 30 و40 عاماً بحق أفراد شبكة دولية متخصصة في تهريب مخدر الكوكايين، بعد تجزئته إلى كبسولات وابتلاعها لإدخالها إلى البلاد.
شبكة دولية
وضمت الشبكة 10 أشخاص، من بينهم تونسيون وأجانب من دول أفريقيا جنوب الصحراء، ثبت تورطهم في تكوين وإدارة والانخراط في عصابة دولية للاتجار بالمخدرات ونقلها وتوزيعها.

وتمكنت السلطات من إيقاف 6 متهمين من عناصر الشبكة في مطار تونس قرطاج، أثناء قدومهم من إحدى الدول الأوروبية، فيما أُحيل 4 آخرون بحالة فرار، وجرى إدراجهم بالتفتيش الدولي عبر «الإنتربول».
627 كبسولة
وفي 19 ديسمبر الجاري، أعلنت السلطات التونسية إحباط محاولة تهريب كمية كبيرة من المخدرات، بلغت 627 كبسولة تحتوي على أكثر من 9 كيلوغرامات من الكوكايين الخام. وأسفرت العملية عن تفكيك شبكة أجنبية تنشط في تهريب المخدرات عبر المعابر الحدودية.
كما تم حجز مبلغ مالي بالعملة الصعبة، والتعرف على أطراف تونسية أخرى مرتبطة بالشبكة داخل البلاد، جرى إدراجها بدورها ضمن قوائم التفتيش.
متابعة دقيقة
وأفاد البيان الرسمي أن العملية انطلقت بعد الاشتباه في 7 مسافرين أفارقة قدموا على متن رحلة للخطوط التونسية، إذ خضعوا لمراقبة دقيقة وتفتيش شامل، وأظهرت الفحوصات الطبية التي أُجريت بالتنسيق مع النيابة العامة، أن جميعهم ابتلعوا كميات كبيرة من الكبسولات التي تحتوي على الكوكايين.
تصاعد محاولات التهريب
وتأتي هذه القضية بعد فترة وجيزة من إعلان السلطات التونسية ضبط أكثر من 10 ملايين قرص مخدر في ميناء رادس، إلى جانب حجز أكثر من 500 كيلوغرام من المخدرات كانت مخبأة داخل حاويات بضائع مستوردة، ما يعكس تصاعد محاولات تهريب المواد المخدرة عبر الموانئ والمعابر.
تحول خطير
ويرى خبراء أن تونس لم تعد مجرد نقطة عبور للمخدرات نحو دول الجوار وأوروبا، بل أصبحت سوقاً سوداء آخذة في الاتساع لمختلف أنواع المخدرات، خصوصاً القنب الهندي والأقراص المهلوسة.
وتشير تقديرات منظمات غير حكومية إلى أن قضايا المخدرات تمثل نحو ثلث الملفات القضائية داخل السجون التونسية، في مؤشر واضح إلى حجم التحديات التي تواجهها البلاد في حربها المستمرة ضد هذه الآفة.

40 years in prison
In a case described as the most dangerous of its kind, the criminal chamber of the primary court in Tunisia issued prison sentences ranging from 30 to 40 years against members of an international network specialized in smuggling cocaine, after it was divided into capsules and swallowed to bring it into the country.
International Network
The network included 10 individuals, including Tunisians and foreigners from sub-Saharan African countries, who were found to be involved in forming, managing, and participating in an international drug trafficking gang for transporting and distributing drugs.
Carthage Airport
The authorities managed to arrest 6 suspects from the network at Tunis-Carthage Airport while they were arriving from one of the European countries, while 4 others were referred in absentia and were placed on international wanted lists through Interpol.
627 Capsules
On December 19, the Tunisian authorities announced the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of drugs, amounting to 627 capsules containing more than 9 kilograms of raw cocaine. The operation resulted in the dismantling of a foreign network active in drug smuggling through border crossings.
A sum of hard currency was also seized, and other Tunisian parties linked to the network inside the country were identified and added to the wanted lists.
Close Monitoring
The official statement indicated that the operation began after suspicion arose regarding 7 African travelers who arrived on a Tunisair flight, as they were subjected to close monitoring and thorough inspection. Medical examinations conducted in coordination with the public prosecutor showed that all of them had swallowed large quantities of capsules containing cocaine.
Escalation of Smuggling Attempts
This case comes shortly after the Tunisian authorities announced the seizure of more than 10 million narcotic pills at the Rades port, along with the confiscation of more than 500 kilograms of drugs hidden inside containers of imported goods, reflecting the escalation of drug smuggling attempts through ports and crossings.
A Dangerous Shift
Experts believe that Tunisia is no longer just a transit point for drugs heading to neighboring countries and Europe, but has become an expanding black market for various types of drugs, especially cannabis and hallucinogenic pills.
Estimates from non-governmental organizations indicate that drug-related cases represent about one-third of the judicial files within Tunisian prisons, a clear indication of the challenges the country faces in its ongoing war against this scourge.
