أعلنت هيئة الربط الكهربائي الخليجي بدء تنفيذ مشروع الربط المباشر بين شبكة الهيئة وشبكة سلطنة عُمان، في خطوة إستراتيجية تعكس تطور مسارات التكامل الخليجي في قطاع الطاقة وتعزيز البنية الأساسية الإقليمية.

وأكد وكيل وزارة الطاقة والمعادن رئيس مجلس إدارة هيئة الربط الكهربائي الخليجي محسن الحضرمي، أن مشروع الربط الكهربائي المباشر مع السلطنة لا يُعد مجرد توسعة فنية لشبكة كهربائية، بل يمثل امتداداً لرؤية إستراتيجية بعيدة المدى أرساها قادة دول مجلس التعاون، حين أقروا مشروع الربط الكهربائي الخليجي كأحد مرتكزات التكامل الخليجي في البنية الأساسية؛ انطلاقاً من إيمانهم بأن أمن الطاقة يشكل ركيزة أساسية لاستقرار الدول ونمو اقتصاداتها واستدامة تنميتها.

وأشار إلى أن الربط الكهربائي الخليجي أثبت على مدى أكثر من عقدين ونصف أنه أحد أنجح نماذج العمل الخليجي المشترك؛ إذ أسهم في تعزيز موثوقية الشبكات الكهربائية وتحقيق وفورات اقتصادية كبيرة لدول مجلس التعاون، مضيفاً أن مشروع الربط المباشر مع سلطنة عُمان يعزز عمق الشبكة الخليجية، ويرفع مرونتها التشغيلية، ويجسد نموذجاً متقدماً للشراكة الخليجية في تمويل مشاريع البنية الأساسية الحيوية.

من جانبه، أوضح الرئيس التنفيذي لهيئة الربط الكهربائي الخليجي المهندس أحمد بن علي الإبراهيم، أن المشروع يُعد أحد أكبر مشاريع التوسعة في تاريخ الهيئة، ويهدف إلى تعزيز قدرة الشبكة الخليجية على استيعاب النمو المتسارع في الطلب على الكهرباء، في ظل ما تشهده دول مجلس التعاون من توسع في الشبكات الداخلية، وتغيرات كبيرة في الأحمال الكهربائية، وزيادة في توليد الطاقة الكهربائية، إلى جانب دعم مشاريع الطاقة المتجددة ورفع جاهزية الشبكات لمواجهة الحالات الطارئة.

ويُعد مشروع الربط المباشر مع سلطنة عُمان خطوة إستراتيجية لتعزيز تكامل شبكات الطاقة الخليجية والإقليمية، وزيادة موثوقية واستدامة أنظمة الكهرباء، ودعم أهداف دول مجلس التعاون في التحول الطاقي وخفض الانبعاثات الكربونية، بما يرسخ مكانة الربط الكهربائي الخليجي كنموذج عالمي للتكامل الإقليمي في قطاع الطاقة.

The Gulf Electricity Interconnection Authority announced the commencement of the direct interconnection project between the Authority's network and the Sultanate of Oman’s network, in a strategic move that reflects the development of Gulf integration pathways in the energy sector and enhances regional infrastructure.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Electricity Interconnection Authority, Mohsen Al-Hadhrami, confirmed that the direct electricity interconnection project with the Sultanate is not merely a technical expansion of an electrical network, but represents an extension of a long-term strategic vision established by the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) when they approved the Gulf electricity interconnection project as one of the cornerstones of Gulf integration in infrastructure; stemming from their belief that energy security is a fundamental pillar for the stability of nations, the growth of their economies, and the sustainability of their development.

He pointed out that the Gulf electricity interconnection has proven over more than two and a half decades to be one of the most successful models of joint Gulf cooperation; as it has contributed to enhancing the reliability of electrical networks and achieving significant economic savings for the GCC countries. He added that the direct interconnection project with the Sultanate of Oman deepens the Gulf network, increases its operational flexibility, and embodies an advanced model of Gulf partnership in financing vital infrastructure projects.

For his part, the CEO of the Gulf Electricity Interconnection Authority, Engineer Ahmed bin Ali Al-Ibrahim, clarified that the project is one of the largest expansion projects in the Authority's history, aiming to enhance the Gulf network's capacity to accommodate the accelerating demand for electricity, in light of the expansion of internal networks in the GCC countries, significant changes in electrical loads, and an increase in electricity generation, alongside supporting renewable energy projects and enhancing the readiness of networks to face emergencies.

The direct interconnection project with the Sultanate of Oman is considered a strategic step to enhance the integration of Gulf and regional energy networks, increase the reliability and sustainability of electricity systems, and support the GCC countries' goals in energy transition and reducing carbon emissions, thereby solidifying the position of the Gulf electricity interconnection as a global model for regional integration in the energy sector.
