أكد رئيس مجلس الهيئة العامة للترفيه المستشار تركي بن عبدالمحسن آل الشيخ، أن مشروع (على خطاه) لم يكن ليرى النور لولا توفيق الله تعالى، ثم الدعم اللامحدود من القيادة الرشيدة ممثلة بخادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، والقائد المُلهم ولي عهده الأمين الأمير محمد بن سلمان، الذي كان له دعم غير مسبوق في هذا المشروع، وكذلك أمير منطقة المدينة المنورة الأمير سلمان بن سلطان بن عبدالعزيز، ونائب أمير منطقة مكة المكرمة الأمير سعود بن مشعل بن عبدالعزيز، اللذين كان لهما دور في سرعة انتهاء المشروع بالشراكة بين الهيئة العامة للترفيه، وإمارة منطقة مكة المكرمة، وإمارة منطقة المدينة المنورة.
وأوضح آل الشيخ أنه حصل على توجيه صريح من ولي العهد الأمير محمد بن سلمان بأن يستفيد أهل الطريق (أهل مكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة) من التعيين في المشروع، إذ تستهدف المرحلة الأولى ٢٥ ألف وظيفة تقريباً، وصولاً إلى ٢٠٠ ألف وظيفة مباشرة وغير مباشرة مستقبلاً، وسيكون التوظيف من خلال إمارة منطقة مكة المكرمة، وإمارة منطقة المدينة المنورة، بالتنسيق مع شركة (صلة) للحصول على دورات متخصصة وفق الضوابط الشرعية، كما حصل في المرحلة الأولى بعد أن حصل المعينون على دورات بإشراف من الشيخ سعد الشثري ومجموعة من المشايخ، مشدداً على حرص القيادة على أن يكون المشروع وفق الضوابط الشرعية، ومحاسبة من يخالف ذلك.
وكشف آل الشيخ عن إقامة ملتقى كبير في أبريل برعاية خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، وبمتابعة مباشرة من أمير منطقة المدينة المنورة الأمير سلمان بن سلطان بن عبدالعزيز، لعرض فرص الاستثمار لرجال الأعمال في العالم الإسلامي في هذا المشروع.
وبين آل الشيخ أن هدف الهيئة الوصول إلى مليون زائر في الفترة الأولى، وفي عام ٢٠٣٠ إلى 5 ملايين زائر، وبعد أن طلب الأمير سلمان بن سلطان دراسة زيادة العدد إلى ١٠ ملايين زائر، فليس ببعيد على الإمكانات السعودية أن تصل الزيارات إلى ١٠ ملايين زائر، لاسيما بعد أن تم إجراء اختبار تجريبي للحجز وتم استقبال أكثر من مليونَي طلب من دولة إندونيسيا الشقيقة، كما أعلن عن وجود عربة هوائية (تيليفريك) عند جبل (ثور) تخدم ٣٠٠٠ شخص في الساعة، مشيراً إلى أن المشروع سيكون تجربة مفيدة ثقافياً، ورياضياً، وتجارياً.
The Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, Advisor Turki bin Abdulmohsen Al Sheikh, confirmed that the (On His Footsteps) project would not have seen the light of day without the grace of God Almighty, and then the unlimited support from the wise leadership represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the inspiring leader, the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who provided unprecedented support for this project, as well as the Prince of the Medina Region, Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, and the Deputy Prince of the Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, who played a role in the swift completion of the project in partnership with the General Entertainment Authority, the Makkah Region Emirate, and the Medina Region Emirate.
Al Sheikh explained that he received explicit guidance from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to ensure that the people of the road (the people of Makkah and Medina) benefit from employment in the project, as the first phase aims for approximately 25,000 jobs, reaching up to 200,000 direct and indirect jobs in the future. Employment will be through the Makkah Region Emirate and the Medina Region Emirate, in coordination with the (Sila) company to provide specialized training courses according to Sharia regulations, as was done in the first phase after the appointees received training courses supervised by Sheikh Saad Al-Shathri and a group of scholars, emphasizing the leadership's commitment to ensuring that the project adheres to Sharia regulations and holding accountable those who violate them.
Al Sheikh revealed the establishment of a large forum in April under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and with direct follow-up from the Prince of the Medina Region, Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, to present investment opportunities for businessmen in the Islamic world in this project.
Al Sheikh indicated that the authority aims to reach one million visitors in the first phase, and by the year 2030, to 5 million visitors. After Prince Salman bin Sultan requested a study to increase the number to 10 million visitors, it is not far-fetched for Saudi capabilities to reach 10 million visits, especially after a trial booking test was conducted and more than two million requests were received from the sisterly country of Indonesia. He also announced the existence of an aerial tramway (teleferic) at Mount (Thur) that serves 3,000 people per hour, pointing out that the project will be a beneficial experience culturally, sportively, and commercially.
