شدد لاعب الاتحاد حسام عوار على أن زملاءه اللاعبين يدركون أهمية المرحلة الحالية لتقديم صورة تعكس قيمة وقوة «العميد» في هذا المحفل الآسيوي عموماً وأمام السد القطري خصوصاً، رغم أنهم يعانون من «إرهاق ضغط المباريات» التي خاضوها خلال الفترة القصيرة الماضية. وقال خلال المؤتمر الصحفي الذي يسبق المواجهة المرتقبة اليوم (الثلاثاء) التي ستقام على استاد جاسم بن حمد في الجولة الأخيرة من مرحلة الدوري لمنطقة الغرب من دوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة لكرة القدم: «ليست المرة الأولى التي أزور فيها قطر، وأعرف أجواءها المثالية وملاعبها الرائعة، لكن تركيزي منصب على مباراة اليوم من أجل مساعدة فريقي على تقديم أفضل مستوى ممكن وتحقيق الفوز لمواصلة النتائج الإيجابية التي تشكل دفعاً معنوياً كبيراً للفريق في قادم التحديات سواء المحلية أو القارية».

يذكر أن الاتحاد تأهل رسمياً إلى الدور ثمن النهائي من دوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة، بعد فوز عريض على الغرافة في الجولة الماضية بنتيجة 7-0 ليرفع رصيده إلى 12 نقطة في المركز الخامس.
