كشفت مصادر عدة، أن رئيسة البنك المركزي الأوروبي كريستين لاغارد أبلغت زملاءها في رسالة بأنها لا تزال تركز على عملها، وأنها ستخطرهم أولاً إذا قررت الاستقالة، وهي رسالة فهم متلقوها أنها تعني أنها لن تترك منصبها. وذلك بحسب ما نشره موقع «العربية. نت».
وقالت المصادر:«إن لاغارد أرسلت رسالة إلى صناع السياسة في وقت لاحق من ذلك اليوم لتطمئنهم بأنها لا تزال تركز على دورها في البنك المركزي الأوروبي، وأنهم سيكونون أول من يعلمون إذا أرادت الاستقالة، وليس الصحافة».
احتمال قائم
وأوضح من تلقوا الرسالة أن ذلك يعني على الأرجح أن لاغارد لا ترغب في مغادرة «البنك المركزي الأوروبي» في الوقت الحالي، لكن الرسالة لم تغلق الباب تماماً أمام هذا الاحتمال.
ورفض متحدث باسم «البنك المركزي الأوروبي» التعليق على ذلك.
وكانت صحيفة «فاينانشال تايمز» قد ذكرت أمس، أن لاغارد تعتزم ترك منصبها مبكراً، قبل انتخابات الرئاسة الفرنسية العام القادم، بما يتيح للرئيس المنتهية ولايته إيمانويل ماكرون دوراً في اختيار خليفتها.
