أعلن قادة دول مجموعة السبع وبينهم الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم (الثلاثاء)، دعمهم الراسخ لأوكرانيا في الدفاع عن وحدة أراضيها وحقها في الوجود، في بيان بمناسبة الذكرى السنوية الرابعة لاندلاع الحرب بين روسيا وأوكرانيا.
وقال رؤساء دول وحكومات الولايات المتحدة وفرنسا والمملكة المتحدة وألمانيا وإيطاليا وكندا واليابان: «نعرب عن دعمنا المتواصل لجهود الرئيس ترمب لتحقيق هذه الأهداف من خلال إطلاق عملية سلام وجعل الأطراف ينخرطون في محادثات مباشرة، مؤكدين على أن لأوروبا دوراً رئيسياً تؤديه في هذه العملية إلى جانب شركاء آخرين».
وأضاف البيان الذي يحظى بدعم واشنطن: «ندرك أن أوكرانيا وروسيا وحدهما يمكنهما التوصل إلى اتفاق سلام من خلال التفاوض معاً بحسن نية».
ويعد هذا البيان المشترك الأول الصادر عن قادة مجموعة السبع بشأن أوكرانيا منذ عودة ترمب إلى البيت الأبيض قبل عام.
من جهة أخرى، جدد قادة بريطانيا وفرنسا وألمانيا التزامهم الراسخ بتحقيق سلام عادل ودائم في أوكرانيا، عقب اجتماع «تحالف الراغبين».
وشدد القادة في بيان مشترك على الدور الذي سيلعبه التحالف في توفير ضمانات أمنية متعددة المستويات.
وطالب أكثر من 30 رئيس دولة في إطار «تحالف الراغبين»، اليوم موسكو بالموافقة على وقف غير مشروط لإطلاق النار، داعين في بيان أصدروه بعد اجتماع في برلين موسكو إلى خوض مفاوضات سلام في شكل هادف، والموافقة على وقف كامل وغير مشروط لإطلاق النار.
وشكك الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون بإمكانية إحلال السلام على المدى القصير في أوكرانيا، خلال مؤتمر عبر الفيديو مع نظرائه المجتمعين في كييف بمناسبة مرور أربع سنوات على اندلاع الحرب، مشدداً على مواصلة المبادرات لإجراء محادثات السلام التي وصفها بـ«الأمر الجيد».
وأضاف: «لكن لا توجد إرادة لدى الجانب الروسي لتحقيق السلام»، واصفاً الحرب بـ«الفشل الثلاثي لروسيا، عسكرياً واقتصادياً وإستراتيجياً».
Leaders of the G7 countries, including U.S. President Donald Trump, announced today (Tuesday) their steadfast support for Ukraine in defending its territorial integrity and right to exist, in a statement marking the fourth anniversary of the outbreak of war between Russia and Ukraine.
U.S., French, British, German, Italian, Canadian, and Japanese heads of state and government said: "We express our ongoing support for President Trump's efforts to achieve these goals by launching a peace process and engaging the parties in direct talks, emphasizing that Europe has a key role to play in this process alongside other partners."
The statement, which has Washington's backing, added: "We recognize that only Ukraine and Russia can reach a peace agreement by negotiating together in good faith."
This is the first joint statement issued by G7 leaders regarding Ukraine since Trump's return to the White House a year ago.
On another note, the leaders of Britain, France, and Germany reaffirmed their strong commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, following the "Alliance of the Willing" meeting.
The leaders stressed in a joint statement the role the alliance will play in providing multi-layered security guarantees.
More than 30 heads of state within the "Alliance of the Willing" today called on Moscow to agree to an unconditional ceasefire, urging in a statement issued after a meeting in Berlin that Moscow engage in meaningful peace negotiations and agree to a complete and unconditional ceasefire.
French President Emmanuel Macron expressed skepticism about the possibility of achieving peace in Ukraine in the short term during a video conference with his counterparts gathered in Kyiv to mark the four-year anniversary of the war's outbreak, emphasizing the continuation of initiatives to conduct peace talks, which he described as "a good thing."
He added: "But there is no willingness on the Russian side to achieve peace," describing the war as "a triple failure for Russia, militarily, economically, and strategically."
