هدد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، بقطع العلاقات التجارية مع إسبانيا بعد رفضها السماح للجيش الأمريكي باستخدام قواعدها في الغارات على إيران.
وقال ترمب للصحفيين خلال اجتماع مع المستشار الألماني فريدريش ميرتس: «الولايات المتحدة ستقطع جميع العلاقات التجارية مع إسبانيا بعد رفضها السماح للجيش الأمريكي باستخدام قواعدها في مهمات مرتبطة بالغارات على إيران»، موضحاً أنه طلب من وزير الخزانة سكوت بيسنت «وقف جميع الاتفاقات» مع إسبانيا.
وأضاف: «سنقطع جميع العلاقات التجارية مع إسبانيا. لا نريد أي علاقة معها».
ووصف ترمب موقف إسبانيا بـ«السيئ جداً»، مبيناً أن بعض الدول الأوروبية ساعدت بلاده بشأن إيران.
وشدد بالقول: «إسبانيا وبريطانيا لم تتعاونا معنا بشأن إيران، ولندن تخلت بغباء عن جزيرة تشاغوس».
وفيما يتعلق بإيران، قال ترمب: «إيران فقدت أذرعها وأرجلها في الشرق الأوسط»، موضحاً أن تولي شخص من الداخل قيادة إيران فكرة أفضل.
وأضاف: «كل من كنا نفكر فيهم لتولي القيادة في إيران قتلوا بالهجومين الأول والثاني»، موضحاً أنه تم استهداف القيادة الجديدة في إيران.
وتوعد ترمب بالاستمرار في القتال بإيران، مبيناً أن إيران ضربت مناطق مدنية في دول لا علاقة لها بالحرب.
ودافع ترمب عن قراره في الحرب قائلاً: «إسرائيل لم تجبرنا على مهاجمة إيران»، مضيفاً: «إيران كانت ستهاجمنا إذا لم نهاجمها ولكننا دمرنا كل شيء في إيران».
ولفت إلى أن تحقيق السلام في المنطقة غير ممكن إذا سمحنا لإيران بالاستمرار في تطوير برنامجيها النووي والصاروخي.
بدوره، قال المستشار الألماني فريدريش ميرتس: «سأتحدث مع ترمب عن المرحلة القادمة في إيران»، مضيفاً: «نتفق جميعاً على ضرورة التخلص من النظام البغيض في طهران».
U.S. President Donald Trump threatened today (Tuesday) to cut trade relations with Spain after it refused to allow the U.S. military to use its bases for operations against Iran.
Trump told reporters during a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz: "The United States will cut all trade relations with Spain after it refused to allow the U.S. military to use its bases for missions related to operations against Iran," explaining that he asked Treasury Secretary Scott Pruitt to "stop all agreements" with Spain.
He added: "we will cut all trade relations with Spain. We do not want any relationship with them."
Trump described Spain's position as "very bad," indicating that some European countries have assisted the U.S. regarding Iran.
He emphasized: "Spain and Britain did not cooperate with us regarding Iran, and London foolishly abandoned Diego Garcia."
Regarding Iran, Trump said: "Iran has lost its arms and legs in the Middle East," clarifying that having someone from within lead Iran is a better idea.
He added: "All those we were thinking of to take leadership in Iran were killed in the first and second attacks," explaining that the new leadership in Iran has been targeted.
Trump vowed to continue fighting in Iran, stating that Iran has struck civilian areas in countries unrelated to the war.
He defended his decision in the war, saying: "Israel did not force us to attack Iran," adding: "Iran would have attacked us if we had not attacked them, but we destroyed everything in Iran."
He pointed out that achieving peace in the region is impossible if we allow Iran to continue developing its nuclear and missile programs.
For his part, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said: "I will talk to Trump about the next phase in Iran," adding: "We all agree on the need to get rid of the abhorrent regime in Tehran."
