كشفت 3 مصادر مطلعة أن «مكالمة سرية» بين الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب ورئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو يوم 23 فبراير الماضي، أشعلت فتيل الحرب على إيران.
معلومات استخباراتية بالغة الأهمية
ونقل موقع «أكسيوس»، عن المصادر قولها: في هذا اليوم، اتصل نتنياهو بترمب كاشفاً معلومات استخباراتية بالغة الأهمية تفيد بأن المرشد الإيراني علي خامنئي وكبار مستشاريه سيجتمعون بمكان واحد في طهران صباح يوم 28 فبراير، وقال إن هذه فرصة لاغتيالهم بغارة جوية واحدة مدمرة.
وأفادت المصادر بأن ترمب قبل علمه بالمعلومات الاستخباراتية الجديدة، كان يميل إلى توجيه ضربة لإيران، لكن لم يكن قد حسم أمره بشأن توقيت الضربة إلى أن اتصل به رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي، إذ إن خامنئي ودائرته المقربة كانوا «أهدافاً مغرية» لا يريد ترمب ونتنياهو تفويتها.
وقال مسؤولون أمريكيون وإسرائيليون إن مكالمة 23 فبراير جاءت ضمن أشهر من التنسيق المكثف بين ترمب ونتنياهو، شمل اجتماعين و15 اتصالاً خلال الشهرين الماضيين قبل موعد الهجوم على إيران.
وأضاف هؤلاء أن واشنطن وتل أبيب ناقشتا تنفيذ الضربة قبل موعدها بأسبوع، قبل أن تؤجل لأسباب استخباراتية وعملياتية، بينها سوء الأحوال الجوية.
التأكد من المعلومات الإسرائيلية
وحسب «أكسيوس»، فقد طلب ترمب إجراء تدقيق أولي من وكالة الاستخبارات المركزية الأمريكية CIA للتحقق من المعلومات التي جمعتها الاستخبارات الإسرائيلية، قبل أن تؤكد الوكالة لاحقاً صحة «تزامن وجود» خامنئي ودائرته المقربة في المكان نفسه.
وكشف مسؤولون أمريكيون أن ترمب تعمد في خطاب «حالة الاتحاد» يوم 25 فبراير عدم التركيز بشكل لافت على إيران، تفادياً لإثارة الشكوك ودفع القيادة الإيرانية إلى تغيير تحركاتها.
وبحلول 26 فبراير، كانت وكالة الاستخبارات المركزية الأمريكية قد تأكدت تماماً من أن خامنئي ومستشاريه سيكونون جميعاً معاً، و«كان علينا استغلال ذلك»، وفقاً لمصدر.
فشل إخفاق المسار الدبلوماسي
وذكرت المصادر، أنه في اليوم نفسه، قدم مبعوثا الرئيس الأمريكي جاريد كوشنر وستيف ويتكوف، تقييماً من جنيف مفاده أن المحادثات مع مسؤولين إيرانيين «وصلت إلى طريق مسدود».
حينها اقتنع ترمب بأمرين: صحة المعلومات الاستخباراتية، وفشل الدبلوماسية مع إيران. وفي تمام الساعة 3:38 مساء بتوقيت شرق الولايات المتحدة يوم 27 فبراير، أصدر قراره النهائي. ثم بعد 11 ساعة، سقطت القنابل على طهران، وقُتل خامنئي، وبدأت الحرب.
ولفت «أكسيوس» إلى أن ترمب كان منفتحاً للاستماع إلى نتنياهو، لكنه أصر على «استنفاد الدبلوماسية أولاً»، في وقت كانت فيه قنوات التفاوض تعمل بالتوازي مع التخطيط العسكري المشترك.
ورفض ترمب الإيحاء بأن نتنياهو هو من دفع بقرار الهجوم. وقال أمس الثلاثاء إن تقديره كان أن إيران قد «تهاجم أولاً»، مضيفاً: «إذا كان هناك شيء، فربما كنت أنا من أجبر إسرائيل على التحرك».

Axios reported that the sources stated: On this day, Netanyahu called Trump revealing highly significant intelligence indicating that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his senior advisors would gather in one location in Tehran on the morning of February 28, and said this was an opportunity to assassinate them with a single devastating airstrike.
The sources indicated that prior to learning of the new intelligence, Trump was inclined to strike Iran, but had not made a definitive decision regarding the timing of the strike until he received the call from the Israeli Prime Minister, as Khamenei and his inner circle were "tempting targets" that Trump and Netanyahu did not want to miss.
U.S. and Israeli officials stated that the call on February 23 was part of months of intensive coordination between Trump and Netanyahu, which included two meetings and 15 calls over the two months leading up to the planned attack on Iran.
They added that Washington and Tel Aviv discussed executing the strike a week prior, before it was postponed for intelligence and operational reasons, including bad weather.
Verification of Israeli Information
According to Axios, Trump requested a preliminary review from the CIA to verify the information gathered by Israeli intelligence, before the agency later confirmed the "concurrent presence" of Khamenei and his inner circle at the same location.
U.S. officials revealed that Trump intentionally downplayed Iran in his State of the Union address on February 25, to avoid raising suspicions and prompting Iranian leadership to alter their movements.
By February 26, the CIA had fully confirmed that Khamenei and his advisors would all be together, and "we had to take advantage of that," according to a source.
Failure of the Diplomatic Path
The sources reported that on the same day, U.S. President's envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff presented an assessment from Geneva stating that talks with Iranian officials had "reached a dead end."
At that point, Trump was convinced of two things: the accuracy of the intelligence and the failure of diplomacy with Iran. At exactly 3:38 PM Eastern Time on February 27, he made his final decision. Then, 11 hours later, bombs fell on Tehran, Khamenei was killed, and war began.
Axios noted that Trump was open to listening to Netanyahu but insisted on "exhausting diplomacy first," while negotiation channels were operating in parallel with joint military planning.
Trump rejected the implication that Netanyahu pushed for the attack decision. He stated yesterday that his assessment was that Iran might "attack first," adding, "If anything, I might have been the one who forced Israel to act."
