أوضح مدرب الخلود الإنجليزي باكنغهام، عقب تأهل فريقه إلى نهائي كأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين بركلات الترجيح أمام الاتحاد، أنه يشعر بالفخر بما قدمه لاعبو الفريق طوال المباراة.

وقال باكنغهام: «فخور باللاعبين وكل ما قدموا، لقد أخرجنا بطل البطولة وهذا يدعونا للفخر. قاتلنا كثيراً لإقامة المباراة هنا في الرس، وهو أحد أسباب انتصارنا، لكن الفريق ككل قدم مباراة كبيرة»،

وأضاف المدرب أن الالتزام الكبير والروح القتالية للاعبين كانا العامل الرئيسي في حسم المباراة، مؤكداً أن التركيز على الأداء الجماعي واللعب بروح واحدة كان سبب النجاح في مواجهة فريق قوي كالاتحاد.

وتأهل الخلود إلى نهائي كأس الملك لأول مرة في تاريخه، في إنجاز يعكس التطور الكبير للفريق تحت قيادة باكنغهام.

The English coach of Al-Khulood, Buckingham, clarified after his team qualified for the King’s Cup final through penalties against Al-Ittihad, that he feels proud of what the players delivered throughout the match.

Buckingham said: “I am proud of the players and everything they have done. We eliminated the champions of the tournament, and that makes us proud. We fought hard to hold the match here in Al-Rass, which is one of the reasons for our victory, but the team as a whole delivered a great match,”

The coach added that the players' strong commitment and fighting spirit were the main factors in deciding the match, emphasizing that focusing on collective performance and playing with one spirit was the reason for success in facing a strong team like Al-Ittihad.

Al-Khulood has reached the King’s Cup final for the first time in its history, in an achievement that reflects the significant development of the team under Buckingham's leadership.
