أعرب وزير الدفاع الإيطالي غيدو كروزيتو عن قلق عميق من تداعيات الحرب الجارية في إيران، مؤكداً أنه يعيش هذه الأزمة «24 ساعة يومياً» ويخشى بشدة ما سيترتب عليها من آثار سلبية على الاقتصاد الإيطالي والأوروبي وحياة المواطنين اليومية في الأسابيع القادمة.

وقال كروزيتو، في مقابلة مع صحيفة «لا ريبوبليكا»، إنه يتابع التطورات بتوتر شديد، محذراً من أن استمرار الصراع قد يؤدي إلى صدمات اقتصادية تطال أسعار الطاقة، تكاليف المعيشة، والاستقرار الاجتماعي. وأضاف أن «ما سيحدث في الأسابيع القادمة يقلقني كثيراً على المستوى الاقتصادي وحياتنا اليومية».

ووصف الوزير الإيطالي ضرب المنشآت الطاقية من الجانبين بأنه «خطأ دراماتيكي»، لأن الأضرار الناتجة عنه «ستدوم مدى الحياة» كما أكد أن الحرب ليست «حرب إيطاليا»، لكنه شدد على ضرورة التعامل مع عواقبها، بما في ذلك مخاطر الإرهاب الناتجة عن التصعيد واضطرابات إمدادات الطاقة عبر مضيق هرمز.

وتعاني إيطاليا، كدولة مستوردة كبيرة للطاقة، من ارتفاع أسعار الوقود والغاز، مما يهدد الصناعة والمزارعين والأسر. وكانت مجموعة صناعية إيطالية (كونفيندوستريا) قد خفضت توقعات نمو الناتج المحلي الإجمالي لعام 2026 بسبب الحرب، محذرة من ركود أو انكماش محتمل إذا طال أمد الصراع.

وكان كروزيتو قد انتقد سابقاً الضربات الأمريكية-الإسرائيلية بوصفها «خارجة عن قواعد القانون الدولي»، مشيراً إلى أنها اندلعت «دون علم العالم» كما أعلن رفع مستوى التأهب في الدفاع الجوي الإيطالي، مؤكدا استعداد إيطاليا لتقديم أنظمة دفاع جوي ومضادة للطائرات المسيّرة إلى دول خليجية حليفة، مع التأكيد على أن روما لا تشارك مباشرة في الحرب.

يأتي هذا القلق الإيطالي وسط تحذيرات أوروبية أوسع من تداعيات الحرب على أسعار الطاقة، والتضخم، والاستقرار الاجتماعي، خصوصاً مع اقتراب فصل الشتاء القادم والتأثير على الدول ذات الاقتصادات الأكثر هشاشة.

The Italian Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, expressed deep concern over the implications of the ongoing war in Iran, emphasizing that he experiences this crisis "24 hours a day" and is deeply worried about the negative effects it will have on the Italian and European economies and the daily lives of citizens in the coming weeks.

In an interview with the newspaper "La Repubblica," Crosetto stated that he is following the developments with great anxiety, warning that the continuation of the conflict could lead to economic shocks affecting energy prices, living costs, and social stability. He added, "What will happen in the coming weeks worries me a lot on an economic level and in our daily lives."

The Italian minister described the strikes on energy facilities from both sides as a "dramatic mistake," as the resulting damage "will last a lifetime." He affirmed that the war is not "Italy's war," but stressed the need to address its consequences, including the risks of terrorism arising from the escalation and disruptions in energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.

Italy, as a major energy-importing country, is suffering from rising fuel and gas prices, threatening industries, farmers, and families. An Italian industrial group (Confindustria) had previously lowered its GDP growth forecasts for 2026 due to the war, warning of a potential recession or contraction if the conflict persists.

Crosetto had previously criticized the American-Israeli strikes as "outside the rules of international law," noting that they erupted "without the world's knowledge." He also announced an increase in the alert level for Italian air defense, confirming Italy's readiness to provide air defense and drone defense systems to allied Gulf countries, while emphasizing that Rome is not directly participating in the war.

This Italian concern comes amid broader European warnings about the war's implications for energy prices, inflation, and social stability, especially with the approach of the coming winter and its impact on countries with more fragile economies.
