في اليوم الـ33 للحرب على إيران، كشف مسؤولان أمريكيان، اليوم (الأربعاء)، أن حاملة الطائرات يو إس إس جورج بوش الأب أبحرت، أمس (الثلاثاء)، إلى الشرق الأوسط برفقة ثلاث مدمرات. وتضم مجموعة الحاملة القتالية أكثر من ستة آلاف بحّار.
السيطرة على مواقع حيوية ومطارات
ونقلت وكالة «أسوشييتد برس» عن المسؤولين تأكيدهم أن آلاف الجنود من الفرقة 82 المحمولة بدأوا الوصول أيضاً جواً إلى الشرق الأوسط.
وعلى الرغم من أن الغالبية الساحقة من هذه القوات جزء من عملية تناوب مخطط لها قبل اندلاع الحرب، فإن بعضهم يُعدّ ضمن نحو 1500 مظلي قررت إدارة ترمب إرسالهم بشكل عاجل إلى المنطقة الأسبوع الماضي.
وأفادت الوكالة بأن الإدارة الأمريكية لم تعلن عن مهمات هذه القوات، إلا أن الفرقة 82 مدرَّبة على القفز بالمظلات إلى أراضٍ معادية أو متنازع عليها للسيطرة على مواقع حيوية ومطارات.
ووصلت سفينة تابعة للبحرية الأمريكية تحمل نحو 2500 من مشاة البحرية إلى المنطقة أخيرا، ويجري نشر 2500 آخرين.
الهدف التوصل لاتفاق مع طهران
انضمت هذه التعزيزات إلى عشرات الآلاف من العسكريين المنتشرين أصلاً في المنطقة، في حين يتجنب وزير الدفاع بيت هيغسيث ومسؤولون آخرون في الإدارة الرد على أسئلة بشأن ما إذا كان الجيش سيستخدم قوات برية ضد إيران. وكان هيغسيث قال للصحفيين أمس (الثلاثاء): «لا يمكنك خوض حرب وتحقيق النصر إذا أخبرت خصمك بما أنت مستعد لفعله أو غير مستعد لفعله، بما في ذلك موضوع القوات البرية»، لكنه أكد أن الهدف هو التوصل إلى اتفاق مع طهران من خلال المحادثات.

انتشار قياسي من فورد
وتتواجد فورد الآن في كرواتيا للراحة، وقال قادة البحرية إن انتشارها سيسجل على الأرجح رقماً قياسياً بطول المدة. وأضاف الأدميرال داريل كودل، أكبر ضابط في البحرية الأمريكية، خلال نقاش في مركز الدراسات الإستراتيجية والدولية أمس «سترون انتشاراً قياسياً من فورد».
وتوقع أن تدخل الحاملة الشهر الحادي عشر من عمليات الانتشار، وهو زمن يعني أن السفينة ستعود إلى نورفولك بولاية فرجينيا في نهاية مايو تقريباً.
وكانت فورد في البحر المتوسط قبل إرسالها إلى البحر الكاريبي للمشاركة في العملية العسكرية التي أطاحت بالرئيس الفنزويلي نيكولاس مادورو في يناير، ثم جرى نشرها لاحقا لدعم الحرب ضد إيران.
ووصلت أيضاً حاملة الطائرات يو إس إس أبراهام لينكولن إلى المنطقة في يناير الماضي.
On the 33rd day of the war against Iran, two American officials revealed today (Wednesday) that the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush sailed to the Middle East yesterday (Tuesday) accompanied by three destroyers. The carrier strike group includes more than six thousand sailors.

The Goal is to Reach an Agreement with Tehran
These reinforcements joined the tens of thousands of military personnel already deployed in the region, while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and other officials in the administration avoided answering questions about whether the military would use ground forces against Iran. Hegseth told reporters yesterday (Tuesday): “You cannot wage war and achieve victory if you tell your adversary what you are willing to do or not willing to do, including the issue of ground forces,” but he emphasized that the goal is to reach an agreement with Tehran through negotiations.
Pressure on U.S. forces and assets deployed in the region has increased due to the war, as the world's largest aircraft carrier, USS Gerald Ford, experienced a fire in its laundry room on March 12, forcing it to leave the Red Sea and return to the Mediterranean for repairs at a naval base in Crete. The fire caused damage to seven sleeping quarters inside the ship, forcing hundreds of sailors to seek alternative sleeping arrangements and damaging personal belongings.
Record Deployment from Ford
Ford is now in Croatia for rest, and Navy leaders stated that its deployment is likely to set a record for duration. Admiral Darryl Caudle, the highest-ranking officer in the U.S. Navy, mentioned during a discussion at the Center for Strategic and International Studies yesterday, “You will see a record deployment from Ford.”
It is expected that the carrier will enter the eleventh month of its deployment, which means the ship will return to Norfolk, Virginia, around the end of May.
Ford was in the Mediterranean before being sent to the Caribbean to participate in the military operation that ousted Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in January, and it was later deployed to support the war against Iran.
The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln also arrived in the region last January.
