هدد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب مجددا، اليوم (الجمعة)، بتنفيذ ضربات تستهدف الجسور ومحطات توليد الكهرباء في إيران، مطالباً القيادة الإيرانية بإبرام اتفاق مع بلاده سريعاً.
وقال ترمب على «تروث سوشيال»، إن الجيش الأمريكي «لم يبدأ حتى الآن في تدمير ما تبقى في إيران.. الجسور ستكون التالية، ثم محطات توليد الكهرباء».
وأضاف أن القيادة الإيرانية «تعرف ما يجب القيام به، ويجب أن يتم ذلك بسرعة»، في إشارة إلى إبرام اتفاق مع بلاده لإنهاء الحرب.
وكان ترمب توعد في خطاب متلفز، الأربعاء، بأن الحرب قد تتصاعد إذا لم تستجب إيران لشروط واشنطن، لافتاً إلى إمكانية استهداف البنية التحتية للطاقة والنفط.
وقال: «سنضربهم بقوة شديدة خلال الأسبوعين أو الثلاثة أسابيع القادمة، سنعيدهم إلى العصر الحجري، حيث ينتمون».
وبعد ما يقرب من خمسة أسابيع من اندلاع الحرب بهجوم جوي مشترك بين الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل على إيران، يواصل الصراع إثارة فوضى في أنحاء المنطقة والاضطرابات في الأسواق المالية، مما يزيد الضغط على ترمب لإيجاد حل سريع.
وصعّد ترمب من لهجته في الأيام القليلة الماضية، بينما يعمل الوسطاء على تقريب وجهات النظر بين واشنطن والقادة الجدد في إيران.
وكان ترمب نشر في وقت سابق مقطع فيديو لقصف الولايات المتحدة لجسر حديث التشييد بين طهران ومدينة كرج. وكان من المقرر افتتاح الجسر أمام حركة المرور هذا العام.
ووفقاً لوسائل الإعلام الإيرانية الرسمية، أودى الهجوم الأمريكي على الجسر بحياة 8 أشخاص وإصابة 95 آخرين.
من جانبه، أكد وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي في بيان أن «استهداف المباني المدنية ومنها الجسور غير المكتملة لن يجبر الإيرانيين على الاستسلام».
U.S. President Donald Trump threatened again today (Friday) to carry out strikes targeting bridges and power plants in Iran, demanding that the Iranian leadership quickly reach an agreement with his country.
Trump said on "Truth Social" that the U.S. military "has not yet begun to destroy what remains in Iran... the bridges will be next, then the power plants."
He added that the Iranian leadership "knows what needs to be done, and it must be done quickly," referring to reaching an agreement with his country to end the war.
Trump had warned in a televised speech on Wednesday that the war could escalate if Iran does not respond to Washington's conditions, pointing to the possibility of targeting energy and oil infrastructure.
He said, "we will hit them very hard in the next two or three weeks, we will return them to the Stone Age, where they belong."
After nearly five weeks since the outbreak of the war with a joint airstrike by the United States and Israel on Iran, the conflict continues to create chaos across the region and turmoil in financial markets, increasing pressure on Trump to find a quick solution.
Trump has escalated his rhetoric in recent days as mediators work to bridge the gaps between Washington and the new leaders in Iran.
Earlier, Trump posted a video of the U.S. bombing a newly constructed bridge between Tehran and the city of Karaj. The bridge was scheduled to open for traffic this year.
According to official Iranian media, the U.S. attack on the bridge resulted in the deaths of 8 people and injured 95 others.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated in a statement that "targeting civilian buildings, including unfinished bridges, will not force Iranians to surrender."
