هدد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، أمس (الإثنين)، بسجن الصحفي الذي نشر أول تقرير عن عملية بحث القوات الأمريكية عن ضابط أسلحة في طائرة إف-15 إي التي أُسقطت فوق الأراضي الإيرانية، إذا لم يكشف عن مصادره.
وقال ترمب خلال مؤتمر صحفي بالبيت الأبيض: «الذي نشر القصة سيذهب إلى السجن إذا لم يتكلم.. وهذا لن يطول»، مضيفاً أن إدارته ستتوجه إلى الشركة الإعلامية التي نشرت التقرير قائلة: «هذا أمر يتعلق بالأمن القومي.. أعطونا المصدر أو اذهبوا إلى السجن».
وأكد الرئيس أن التسريب أضر بعملية الإنقاذ، إذ أبلغ الإيرانيين بوجود طيار أمريكي مفقود، مما عرض الضابط ورجال الإنقاذ للخطر. ووصف ترمب الشخص الذي سرب المعلومات بأنه «شخص مريض».
وأُسقطت الطائرة الأمريكية إف-15 إي يوم الجمعة الماضي فوق إيران أثناء العمليات العسكرية الجارية في المنطقة، وكان على متنها طياران، تم إنقاذ أحدهما في عملية جريئة، بينما استمرت عملية البحث عن الضابط الآخر (ضابط أنظمة الأسلحة) قبل أن يتم إنقاذه أيضاً في نهاية الأسبوع.
ونشر الصحفي المعني أول تقرير يكشف أن القوات الأمريكية كانت تبحث عن الضابط المفقود داخل الأراضي الإيرانية، قبل إتمام عملية الإنقاذ الثانية. ويتهم ترمب هذا التقرير بأنه أعطى الإيرانيين إشارة مبكرة، مما زاد من صعوبة المهمة.
وتأتي تهديدات ترمب في سياق التوتر الشديد بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران، حيث يدور صراع عسكري مفتوح منذ أسابيع، شمل إغلاق مضيق هرمز وتبادل الضربات، وأشاد ترمب بعملية الإنقاذ، ووصفها بأنها «من أجرأ عمليات البحث والإنقاذ في تاريخ الولايات المتحدة»، مشيراً إلى أن القوات الأمريكية واجهت إطلاق نار كثيفاً أثناء العملية.

U.S. President Donald Trump threatened yesterday (Monday) to jail the journalist who published the first report on the U.S. military's search for a weapons officer in the F-15E aircraft that was shot down over Iranian territory if he does not reveal his sources.
Trump said during a press conference at the White House: "The one who published the story will go to jail if he doesn't speak... and this won't take long," adding that his administration would approach the media company that published the report, saying: "This is a matter of national security... Give us the source or go to jail."
The president confirmed that the leak harmed the rescue operation, as it informed the Iranians of the presence of a missing American pilot, putting the officer and rescue personnel in danger. Trump described the person who leaked the information as a "sick person."
The American F-15E was shot down last Friday over Iran during ongoing military operations in the region, and it had two pilots on board; one was rescued in a daring operation, while the search for the other officer (the weapons systems officer) continued before he was also rescued over the weekend.
The concerned journalist published the first report revealing that U.S. forces were searching for the missing officer inside Iranian territory before the second rescue operation was completed. Trump accuses this report of giving the Iranians an early signal, which increased the difficulty of the mission.
Trump's threats come amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran, where an open military conflict has been ongoing for weeks, including the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and exchanges of strikes. Trump praised the rescue operation, describing it as "one of the boldest search and rescue operations in U.S. history," noting that U.S. forces faced heavy gunfire during the operation.
Trump takes a hardline stance on press leaks related to national security, having previously threatened journalists and media figures during his first term. However, the attempt to jail a journalist for refusing to reveal his sources typically faces significant legal hurdles in the United States, given the First Amendment's protection of press freedom, and such a move could encounter immediate legal challenges.
