رحب رئيس الاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم (كاف) باتريس موتسيبي بإجراء تحقيق فساد داخل المنظمة، عقب اجتماعه مع مسؤولين سنغاليين في داكار أمس (الأربعاء).
وكانت الحكومة السنغالية قد طالبت بإجراء تحقيق بعد أن جردت لجنة الاستئناف التابعة لـ«كاف» منتخب السنغال من لقب كأس الأمم 2025 ومنحته للمغرب الشهر الماضي.
لا تهاون مع الفساد
وقال موتسيبي في تصريحات صحفية: «سأرحب بأي تحقيق فساد داخل «كاف» سواء أجرته الحكومة أو أي مؤسسة أخرى، في الواقع، سأشجع ذلك، وسنتعاون معهم تعاوناً كاملاً».
وأضاف: «قيل لي إن هناك مشاكل في الماضي وتدخلنا، الأمر لا يقتصر على كرة القدم فحسب، بل يمتد إلى مجال الأعمال والسياسة أيضاً، لا يمكننا أن نغرس في أذهان أطفالنا فكرة أن النجاح في الحياة يتطلب الفساد، يجب ألا نتهاون مطلقاً مع الفساد، هذه أفضل هدية يمكننا تقديمها لكرة القدم الأفريقية، لا نكتفي بالحديث عن الفساد، بل نتدخل ونضع القوانين اللازمة وننفذها».
نفي تفضيل المغرب
ونفى رئيس «كاف» أي تلميح بأن المغرب قد حظي بمعاملة تفضيلية في عملية الاستئناف، قائلاً: «لن تتلقى أي دولة في أفريقيا تحت أي ظرف ممكن معاملة تفضيلية أو تُعامل على نحو أفضل من أي دولة أخرى، لن يحدث ذلك أبداً، نحن واثقون من أننا سنخرج من هذه التحديات أكثر اتحاداً بين دول القارة».
The President of the African Football Confederation (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, welcomed the investigation into corruption within the organization, following his meeting with Senegalese officials in Dakar yesterday (Wednesday).
The Senegalese government had called for an investigation after the CAF Appeals Committee stripped the Senegal national team of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title and awarded it to Morocco last month.
No Tolerance for Corruption
Motsepe stated in press remarks: “I will welcome any investigation into corruption within CAF, whether conducted by the government or any other institution; in fact, I will encourage that, and we will cooperate with them fully.”
He added: “I have been told that there are issues from the past and we intervened; this is not limited to football alone but extends to the fields of business and politics as well. We cannot instill in our children the idea that success in life requires corruption. We must never tolerate corruption; this is the best gift we can give to African football. We do not just talk about corruption, but we intervene, establish the necessary laws, and implement them.”
Denial of Favoring Morocco
The CAF President denied any suggestion that Morocco received preferential treatment in the appeals process, stating: “No country in Africa will receive preferential treatment or be treated better than any other country under any circumstances; that will never happen. We are confident that we will emerge from these challenges more united as countries of the continent.”
