هناك صروح وأشخاص يندر وجود أمثالها في بلادنا الغالية. نماذج للنجاح تبقى استثنائية وخالدة في ذاكرة الأوفياء. ومن أهم الصروح التعليمية المميّزة كانت مدارس الثغر النموذجية في مدينة جدة، التي أسّسها الملك فيصل -رحمه الله تعالى- وكانت تتبع في إدارتها الديوان الملكي مباشرة. واختير لإدارتها أفذاذ من رجال العلم والإدارة مثل محمد فدا وعبدالرحمن تونسي وفؤاد أبو الخير. وكانوا جميعاً رجالاً صدقوا وافوا بالعهد وتحمّلوا المسؤولية بحق وجدارة.
ومنذ أيام رحل عن دنيانا المعلم الفاضل والإداري الصارم والتربوي النبيل الأستاذ فؤاد أبو الخير بعد عمر طويل في خدمة العلم والتعليم، ساهم في تخريج الآلاف من أبناء الوطن الذين تألقوا في مجالات حياتهم التي سلكوا دروب الرزق فيها.
هو سليل أسرة مكيّة عريقة عُرف عنها العلم منذ عقود طويلة من الزمن. عُرف عن الراحل مزايا كثيرة جداً. كان شديد التواضع وكريم النفس وعفيف اللسان وطيب المعشر ووفياً في صداقاته ونبيلاً في معاملاته، لكنه كان حاداً وصارماً وجاداً في تطبيق النظام والعدل والمساواة فيه. كانت له الهيبة الواضحة والحضور المهيب، وكان يدير الأشخاص بنظرة عين ونبرة صوت، وكنت أنا شخصياً شاهداً على ذلك؛ لأنني كنت أحد الطلبة الذين شرفوا بكونهم تحت إدارته.
كان حريصاً ومواظباً على حضور مجالس العلم والتفقه في الدين والنهل من سيرة المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم. كان قارئاً نهماً غزير الاطلاع والمعرفة.
ولذلك لم يكن غريباً ولا مفاجئاً العدد الكبير للذين شاركوا في جنازته والصلاة عليه، وبعد ذلك الذين شاركوا في تقديم واجب العزاء، فكل ذلك كان شهادة رمزية، لكنها بالغة الدلالة على مكانة الرجل في نفوس محبيه.
عمل الراحل في محطات أخرى بعد محطة مدارس الثغر، إذ عمل في القطاع الخاص في شركة تهامة للدعاية والإعلان، وعاد للتعليم في مدارس دار الفكر. ولكن ما سيبقى في الذاكرة عن الراحل الكبير هو سيرته العطرة وأخلاقه الرفيعة وتعامله الراقي. رحم الله المربي الفاضل الأستاذ فؤاد أبو الخير رحمة واسعة وأسكنه فسيح جناته، فهو نموذج فريد لرجل محترم رحل عنا.
There are monuments and individuals that are rarely found in our beloved country. Models of success that remain exceptional and eternal in the memory of the loyal. Among the most distinguished educational institutions was the Al-Thughar Model Schools in the city of Jeddah, founded by King Faisal - may God have mercy on him - which was directly managed by the royal court. Exceptional men of knowledge and administration were chosen to manage it, such as Muhammad Fida, Abdulrahman Tunis, and Fouad Abu Khair. They were all men who were true to their word, fulfilled their promises, and bore responsibility with integrity and merit.
Recently, we lost the esteemed teacher, strict administrator, and noble educator, Mr. Fouad Abu Khair, after a long life dedicated to the service of knowledge and education. He contributed to the graduation of thousands of our nation's youth who excelled in the fields they pursued for their livelihoods.
He was a descendant of an ancient Meccan family known for its scholarship for many decades. The late Mr. Abu Khair was known for many admirable qualities. He was extremely humble, generous in spirit, eloquent, pleasant in demeanor, loyal in his friendships, and noble in his dealings. However, he was also strict, firm, and serious in enforcing rules, justice, and equality. He had a clear presence and an imposing demeanor, managing people with a glance and a tone of voice, and I personally witnessed this, as I was one of the students honored to be under his administration.
He was keen and diligent in attending sessions of knowledge, understanding religion, and drawing from the life of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. He was an avid reader with vast knowledge and insight.
Therefore, it was neither strange nor surprising that a large number of people participated in his funeral and prayed for him, and subsequently, many joined in offering their condolences. All of this was a symbolic testimony, but it was profoundly indicative of the man's status in the hearts of his admirers.
The late Mr. Abu Khair worked in other positions after his time at Al-Thughar Schools; he worked in the private sector at Tihama Advertising Company and returned to education at Dar Al-Fikr Schools. However, what will remain in memory about this great man is his fragrant legacy, his high morals, and his dignified dealings. May God have mercy on the esteemed educator, Mr. Fouad Abu Khair, and grant him a spacious place in Paradise, for he is a unique example of a respected man who has departed from us.
