نجا 130 شخصاً من كارثة محققة، إثر انحراف طائرة ركاب تابعة للخطوط الجوية الكرواتية عن مدرج مطار مدينة «سبليت» الساحلية، بعد قرار طاقم الطائرة إلغاء عملية الإقلاع بشكل مفاجئ قبيل الارتفاع عن الأرض.
وأكدت شركة الطيران الكرواتية في بيان رسمي، سلامة جميع من كانوا على متن طائرة الـ «إيرباص A220-300» البالغ عددهم 125 راكباً وطاقماً من 5 أفراد، مشيرة إلى أنه تم إجلاؤهم بسلام إلى مبنى المطار دون تسجيل أي إصابات. وكانت الرحلة متجهة من مدينة سبليت الكرواتية إلى العاصمة الألمانية فرانكفورت.
وأظهر تحليل وكالة فرانس برس لبيانات موقع «فلايت رادار» المتخصص، أن سرعة الطائرة كانت تتجاوز 240 كم/الساعة عندما اتخذ الطيارون قرار الفرملة الطارئة والتوقف «طبقاً لإجراءات السلامة المنصوص عليها». وأدى التوقف المفاجئ في هذه السرعة العالية إلى خروج أحد إطارات جهاز الهبوط عن المسار واستقراره على المساحة العشبية المحاذية، مما تسبب بأضرار مادية طفيفة في الطائرة، شملت ملامسة أحد المحركات للعشب.
من جانبه، صنف المركز الوطني الكرواتي للتحقيق في حوادث النقل الواقعة بأنها «حادثة خطيرة»، معلناً عن فتح تحقيق رسمي لمعرفة الأسباب الفنية التي دفعت الطاقم لإلغاء الإقلاع في اللحظات الأخيرة، في حين أرجأت شركة الطيران كشف المزيد من التفاصيل لحين الانتهاء من الفحوص الفنية الأولية.
130 people survived a disaster that was about to happen, after a passenger plane belonging to Croatia Airlines veered off the runway at the coastal city airport of "Split," following the crew's sudden decision to abort the takeoff just before lifting off the ground.
Croatia Airlines confirmed in an official statement the safety of all 130 people on board the Airbus A220-300, which included 125 passengers and a crew of 5, noting that they were safely evacuated to the airport terminal without any injuries. The flight was headed from the Croatian city of Split to the German capital, Frankfurt.
An analysis by Agence France-Presse of data from the specialized site "Flight Radar" showed that the plane's speed was exceeding 240 km/h when the pilots made the emergency braking decision and stopped "according to the prescribed safety procedures." The sudden stop at this high speed caused one of the landing gear tires to go off course and settle on the adjacent grassy area, resulting in minor material damage to the aircraft, including one of the engines making contact with the grass.
For its part, the Croatian National Center for Transport Accident Investigation classified the incident as a "serious incident," announcing the opening of an official investigation to determine the technical reasons that led the crew to cancel the takeoff at the last moment, while the airline postponed revealing further details until the completion of the initial technical inspections.
