أعلن مكتب أبوظبي الإعلامي، اليوم الأحد، أن الجهات المختصة في الإمارة تعاملت مع حريق اندلع في مولد كهربائي خارج المحيط الداخلي لمحطة براكة للطاقة النووية في منطقة الظفرة، ناجم عن استهداف بطائرة مسيرة.
تأكيد سلامة الأنظمة النووية
وأكد أن الحريق لم ينتح عنه تسجيل أي إصابات، ولم يؤثر على مستويات السلامة الإشعاعية. وأضاف أنه تم اتخاذ الإجراءات الاحترازية كافة، وسيتم موافاتكم بالمستجدات حال توافرها.
ونقل المكتب الإعلامي عن الهيئة الاتحادية للرقابة النووية تأكيدها بأن الحريق لم يؤثر على سلامة المحطة أو جاهزية أنظمتها الأساسية، وأن جميع المحطات تعمل كالمعتاد.
تحذير من الشائعات
ودعت الجهات المختصة الجمهور إلى عدم تداول الشائعات واستقاء المعلومات من المصادر الرسمية فقط.وشددت الهيئة على استمرار المتابعة الفنية والإجراءات الوقائية وفق أعلى معايير السلامة المعتمدة. ولفت مكتب أبوظبي الإعلامي إلى أنه سيتم الإعلان عن أي مستجدات إضافية فور توافرها,

يذكر أن محطة براكة للطاقة النووية هي محطة للطاقة النووية السلمية وتقع في منطقة الظفرة بإمارة أبوظبي على ساحل الخليج العربي، وتبعد نحو 53 كيلومتراً جنوب غرب مدينة الظنة.
وتضم المحطة 4 مفاعلات نووية من طراز APR-1400 الكوري الجنوبي، وتصل القدرة الإنتاجية الإجمالية إلى حوالى 5,600 ميغاواط. وتنتج نحو 40 تيراواط/ساعة من الكهرباء النظيفة سنوياً، ما يغطي نحو 25% من احتياجات الإمارات من الكهرباء. وتُعد أكبر مصدر منفرد للكهرباء النظيفة في الإمارات.
وتسهم في خفض أكثر من 22 مليون طن من الانبعاثات الكربونية سنوياً.
وبدأ تشغيل أول مفاعل تجاري عام 2020، بينما دخلت الوحدات الأخرى الخدمة تدريجياً حتى اكتمال تشغيل الوحدات الأربع في 2024.
The Abu Dhabi Media Office announced today, Sunday, that the relevant authorities in the emirate dealt with a fire that broke out in an electrical generator outside the internal perimeter of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra region, caused by a drone strike.

It confirmed that the fire did not result in any injuries and did not affect radiation safety levels. It added that all precautionary measures have been taken, and updates will be provided as they become available.
The media office quoted the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation confirming that the fire did not affect the safety of the plant or the readiness of its essential systems, and that all plants are operating as usual.

The relevant authorities urged the public not to circulate rumors and to obtain information only from official sources. The authority emphasized the continuation of technical monitoring and preventive measures according to the highest approved safety standards. The Abu Dhabi Media Office noted that any additional updates will be announced as soon as they become available.

It is worth mentioning that the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant is a peaceful nuclear power station located in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi Emirate on the coast of the Arabian Gulf, about 53 kilometers southwest of the city of Al Dhafra.
The plant includes 4 APR-1400 South Korean reactors, with a total production capacity of approximately 5,600 megawatts. It produces about 40 terawatt-hours of clean electricity annually, covering about 25% of the UAE's electricity needs. It is the largest single source of clean electricity in the UAE.
It contributes to reducing more than 22 million tons of carbon emissions annually.
The first commercial reactor began operation in 2020, while the other units entered service gradually until the completion of all four units in 2024.
