اعتمدت المنظمة العالمية للصحة الحيوانية WOAH برنامج السعودية لمكافحة داء السعار، وذلك بعد استيفاء المملكة جميع المتطلبات الفنية والمعايير الدولية المعتمدة لاعتماد برامج المكافحة، ما يعد خطوة رائدة إقليمياً في اعتمادات برامج المكافحة على مستوى المنظمة في الأمراض الحيوانية ومنها هذا المرض تتويجاً للجهود المتواصلة في تعزيز الوقاية والمكافحة من الأمراض الحيوانية.
جاء ذلك خلال أعمال الدورة الـ93 للجمعية العمومية للمنظمة، التي عُقدت في العاصمة الفرنسية باريس، بمشاركة الدول الأعضاء والمنظمات الدولية المعنية بالصحة الحيوانية.
وجاء الاعتماد بعد تقييم شامل للبرنامج الفني الذي أعدّه المركز الوطني للوقاية من الآفات النباتية والأمراض الحيوانية (وقاء)، والذي يتضمن منظومة متكاملة من الإجراءات الوقائية والرقابية لمكافحة داء السعار المنقول بواسطة الكلاب، بما يتوافق مع الاشتراطات والمعايير الدولية المعتمدة لدى المنظمة.
يعكس الاعتماد التزام المملكة بتعزيز منظومة الصحة الحيوانية وتطبيق أفضل الممارسات العالمية في الوقاية من الأمراض المشتركة بين الإنسان والحيوان والسيطرة عليها، بما يسهم في حماية الصحة العامة والحد من مخاطر انتقال داء السعار إلى الإنسان، ويؤكد مكانة المملكة إقليمياً ودولياً في مجال الصحة الحيوانية.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) has approved Saudi Arabia's rabies control program, after the Kingdom met all technical requirements and international standards for the approval of control programs. This is a pioneering step regionally in the accreditation of control programs at the organization level for animal diseases, including this disease, culminating in the continuous efforts to enhance prevention and control of animal diseases.
This approval came during the 93rd session of the General Assembly of the organization, held in the French capital, Paris, with the participation of member countries and international organizations concerned with animal health.
The accreditation followed a comprehensive evaluation of the technical program prepared by the National Center for Plant Pest and Animal Disease Prevention (Wiqaya), which includes an integrated system of preventive and regulatory measures to combat rabies transmitted by dogs, in accordance with the requirements and international standards approved by the organization.
The accreditation reflects the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing the animal health system and applying the best global practices in the prevention and control of zoonotic diseases, contributing to the protection of public health and reducing the risks of rabies transmission to humans, and confirms the Kingdom's regional and international standing in the field of animal health.
