في منتدى سانت بطرسبرغ الاقتصادي الدولي لعام 2026، كان وزير الطاقة الأمير عبدالعزيز بن سلمان، كالعهد به، صورة مجسّمة للمملكة في علو كعبها، ونائف مقامها، وسديد قولها، وبليغ حكمتها، جاءت كلماته رسائل بالغة الدقّة لقطاع الطاقة، فيها من التطمين ما أشاع الأمل وسط الترقّب الحذر، والمخاوف الجسام، ليعلنها بثقة مطلقة، وصوت جهير لا لبس فيه: «نحن مزوّد مرن للطاقة، كنّا وسنظلّ كذلك في جميع الظروف».
في طي هذه الكلمات تكمن نظرة المملكة الحكيمة والواعية لضبط ميزان الاقتصاد العالمي، وتغليب الخيار الأمثل في الحلول بضرورة تقدير الظروف وفق ما تقتضيه من معالجة تحفظ التوازن، وتبقي على معادلات الاقتصاد العالمي على إيقاع الانسجام والمنافع المتبادلة، غير غافلة على الإطلاق جسامة الواقع، بحسب تعبير الأمير عبدالعزيز ووصفه للأحداث الجيوسياسية الراهنة بأنّها تشتت الانتباه وتعرقل التركيز عن الأولويات الاستراتيجية للمملكة، وفي مقدمتها مستهدفات «رؤية 2030»
ورغم ذلك جاءت رسالة التطمين هذه لتؤكد مكانة المملكة، وقدرتها وحكمتها بتغليب خيار المصلحة العامة على المكاسب الضيقة، وامتدت الرسالة ذاتها لتشيع الطمأنينة في ربوع الوطن في مُجلّى قوله: «نحن مدينون لأنفسنا ولكلّ مواطن سعودي بأن نتحدى هذه البيئة الصعبة، ونواصل الالتزام بطموحاتنا،
فالمملكة تمتلك القدرة والثقة الكافية للتعامل مع التحديات وإظهار مرونتها الاقتصادية والتشغيلية أمام العالم».
هذه العبارات على إيجازها، تؤكد ما هو آكد وحاضر في أرض الواقع، الذي ساق له الوزير دليلاً ملموساً يتبدى «بنجاح البنية التحتية والمنظومة اللوجستية للمملكة في تحويل المآسي فرصاً، وإدارة موسم الحج بنجاح قياسي غير مسبوق رغم الاضطرابات الإقليمية المحيطة».
إن إشارة الوزير هذه ترتكز بشكل أساسي إلى إرثٍ أصبح «ماركة مسجلة» باسم المملكة، وكأنه يشير بطرف خفيٍّ إلى ما حقّقته المملكة ودوّنته في سجل الإنجاز العالمي إبّان جائحة كورونا، فجاء ترتيبها على إيقاع الحكمة، والقدرة، والمكنة، مثل ما يظهر اليوم مع هذه الأزمة، التي قادتها المملكة بذات النهج المُؤْثِر للصّمت، والناهض بأسباب العمل، وفي صمتها «كلام» وأيّ كلام..!
أما سمعت لوزير الطاقة في سانت بطرسبرغ، وهو يكشف سرَّ التزامه الصّمت طوال المدة الماضية، على الرغم من راجح مثقال كلمته في المحافل الدولية خصوصاً والأمر يتعلّق بأزمة الطاقة عالمياً، حيث جاء قوله على سُلّم الرّزانة، وإيقاع الرويّة «الوزير مطالب بالحفاظ على هدوئه وعدم الهلع لأن الذّعر يفقدك السيطرة على السرديّة.
أنوي الحفاظ على صمتي؛ لأن الصّمت في خضم المجاهيل الكثيرة هو رسالة وإقرار متواضع بأن الواقع يتبدّل بسرعة، وهو شكل من أشكال احترام الذّات والآخرين».
فما أعظمها من كلمات، وما أشرقه من تعبير عن الذات، فكأن الشاعر قد عناه بالقول
منّا الأناةُ وبَعضُ القومِ يحسَبُنا
أنا بِطاءٌ وفي إبطائِنا سِرَعُ
إن في كنانة المملكة الكثير لتجاوز هذه المرحلة العصبية التي يشهدها العالم، وخصوصاً فيما يتعلّق بأسواق النفط، وهو عين ما أشار إليه وزير الطاقة بقوله: هناك الكثير من الأجزاء والعوامل المتحرّكة، الكثير من الأمور المجهولة، والكثير من الأشياء التي نعتقد أنها أصبحت واقعاً، ولكن نستيقظ في اليوم التالي لنجد أن الواقع ليس واقعاً، وإنما حلم بعيد المنال، أو أمل متخيّل، أو أمنية.
لذا في هذه الظّروف التي يعتمد فيها المرء مجدّداً على المنطق ويقول إنه إذا لم تكن تعرف، فتحلَّ بالصّمت... فالتحلّي بالصّمت هو شكل من أشكال الرسائل، ألا ما أبلغ هذا الصمت، وما أبدع قيادة ترى أفقاً تتقاصر دونه بصائر الآخرين، فإذا أردت معادلاً إبداعياً لحكمة «الصمت»
فردّد مع الشاعر قوله:
نارُ الرَّويَّةِ نارٌ جِدُّ مُنضِجةٍ
وفي البديهةِ نارٌ ذاتُ تلويحِ
وقد يُفَضِّلُها قومٌ لعاجِلِها
لكِنَّه عاجِلٌ يمضي مع الرِّيحِ
القدرة على ضبط النفس عند الشّدائد والمحن والأزمات، ووسمها بميسم الحكمة والريث والروية، عنصر من أوجب الواجبات التي من المفترض أن يتحلّى بها أيّ مسؤول، ويتقيّد بها كلّ من ألقيت على عاتقه المهام الجسام، كونها تمثلّ الركيزة الأساسية لتجاوز كافة العقبات؛ إنْ لم يكن بكامل النّجاح، فلا أقلّ من أن يكون بأقلّ الأضرار وأهونها، متجاوزاً بهذه القدرة عقابيل الاستجابات الفورية في اندفاعها الفوّار، وانفعالها المستشطِّ وفق مترتبات ردِّ الفعل، فتأتي هذه القدرة التي يتمايز بها الناس ويتفاضلون، فتحيل هذه العواطف الجيّاشة إلى طاقة إيجابية بمحركات الصّمت الإيجابي، المحفّز على التفكير العميق، والمُغلّب للخيارات في مرآة التخطيط المنطقي، مع ترتيب الأولويات لتجاوز التحديات بوعي وثبات، وهي من المحامد التي صدح بها الشّعراء، ومن ذلك قولهم:
قد يُدرِكُ المتأنِّي بعضَ حاجَتِه
وقد يكونُ مع المُستَعجِلِ الزَّلَلُ
من منن الله العظيمة على هذه البلاد المباركة، أن أنعم عليها بقيادة راشدة في وعيها، حكيمة في قرارها، مقتصدة في قولها إلّا بمقدارِ ما يوصل الرسائل في بريد من تعنيهم.
هذه الحقبة الزاهرة عهد سلمان، وولي عهده الأمين، أدركت لهذه الحكمة معنى آخر مع «الرؤية»..
فانظر، وتأمّل العقبات والصعاب والشدائد التي واجهتها المملكة وآخرها الأزمة التي تعيشها المنطقة جرّاء الحرب الدائرة بين الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل من جهة، وإيران وما ترتب عليها من اعتداءات سافرة وجهتها إيران إلى المملكة ودول الخليج العربي، فضلاً عن إغلاقها لمضيق هرمز، مما شكّل عائقاً أمام تدفّق حركة الملاحة الطبيعية، محدثة أزمة اقتصادية تجاوزت المحيط الإقليمي إلى العالمي تبعاً لتوقف إمداد النفط والمشتقات البترولية، فظلت المملكة طوال هذه الأزمة، وما زالت، ملتزمة بأقصى احتمال لضبط النفس، متّسمة بالحلم والأناة، ملتزمة صمتاً ذا دلالات ومعانٍ..
حفظ الله لنا هذه القيادة الحكيمة، وأدام علينا نعمة الأمن والأمان والاستقرار.
At the 2026 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman was, as always, a vivid representation of the Kingdom in its high stature, noble position, sound words, and profound wisdom. His words conveyed precise messages to the energy sector, filled with reassurance that spread hope amidst cautious anticipation and significant fears, declaring with absolute confidence and a clear voice: “we are a flexible energy supplier; we have been and will remain so under all circumstances.”
Within these words lies the Kingdom's wise and conscious perspective on balancing the global economy, prioritizing optimal solutions that require assessing circumstances in a way that preserves balance and maintains the equations of the global economy in harmony and mutual benefits. It does not overlook the gravity of reality, as expressed by Prince Abdulaziz, who described the current geopolitical events as distractions that hinder focus on the Kingdom's strategic priorities, foremost among them the targets of “Vision 2030.”
Despite this, this message of reassurance came to affirm the Kingdom's position, capability, and wisdom by prioritizing the public interest over narrow gains. The same message extended to instill confidence throughout the homeland in his clear statement: “We owe it to ourselves and every Saudi citizen to challenge this difficult environment and continue to commit to our ambitions.”
For the Kingdom possesses the capability and sufficient confidence to deal with challenges and demonstrate its economic and operational resilience to the world.
These phrases, though concise, confirm what is more certain and present in reality, which the minister provided as tangible evidence: “The success of the Kingdom's infrastructure and logistics system in turning tragedies into opportunities, and managing the Hajj season with unprecedented record success despite the surrounding regional disturbances.”
This minister's reference is fundamentally based on a legacy that has become a “trademark” of the Kingdom, as if he subtly pointed to what the Kingdom achieved and recorded in the global achievement register during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its ranking resonated with wisdom, capability, and strength, just as it appears today with this crisis, which the Kingdom has led with the same influential approach of silence, driven by the reasons for action, and in its silence, “there is speech” and what a speech it is!
Did you not hear the Minister of Energy in St. Petersburg revealing the secret of his commitment to silence throughout the past period, despite the weight of his words in international forums, especially concerning the global energy crisis? He stated with a tone of calmness and deliberation, “The minister is required to maintain his composure and not panic because panic loses you control over the narrative.”
“I intend to maintain my silence; for silence amidst many unknowns is a message and a humble acknowledgment that reality changes rapidly, and it is a form of self-respect and respect for others.”
What great words they are, and what a bright expression of self! It is as if the poet meant it when he said:
“Among us is patience, while some of the people think we are
slow; in our slowness lies speed.”
In the quiver of the Kingdom, there is much to surpass this nervous phase that the world is witnessing, especially concerning oil markets, which is precisely what the Minister of Energy referred to by saying: “There are many moving parts and factors, many unknowns, and many things we believe have become reality, only to wake up the next day to find that reality is not reality, but a distant dream, an imagined hope, or a wish.”
Therefore, in these circumstances where one again relies on logic and says that if you do not know, then remain silent... for silence is a form of messaging. How profound this silence is, and how brilliant is the leadership that sees a horizon beyond the vision of others. If you want a creative equivalent to the wisdom of “silence,”
then echo the poet's words:
“The fire of deliberation is a truly igniting fire,”
“and at first, it is a fire that beckons,”
“and some may prefer it for its immediacy,”
“but it is fleeting, carried away by the wind.”
The ability to maintain composure in times of adversity, crises, and challenges, and to mark it with the hallmark of wisdom, patience, and deliberation, is one of the essential duties that any responsible person should possess, and that everyone entrusted with significant tasks should adhere to, as it represents the fundamental pillar for overcoming all obstacles; if not with complete success, then at least with minimal and manageable damage, surpassing this ability the repercussions of immediate responses in their impulsive rush and emotional outbursts according to the consequences of reactions. This ability distinguishes people and elevates them, transforming these overwhelming emotions into positive energy through the engines of positive silence, which stimulates deep thinking and prioritizes options in the mirror of logical planning, with a focus on priorities to overcome challenges with awareness and steadfastness, which are among the praises that poets have sung, including their saying:
“The patient may attain some of his needs,”
“while the hasty may stumble.”
Among the great blessings of God upon this blessed land is that He has bestowed upon it a wise leadership in its awareness, prudent in its decisions, and economical in its words except to the extent that conveys messages to those it concerns.
This flourishing era of Salman and his trustworthy Crown Prince has given this wisdom another meaning with the “vision.”
So look, and contemplate the obstacles, difficulties, and hardships that the Kingdom has faced, the latest of which is the crisis caused by the ongoing war between the United States and Israel on one side, and Iran and the resulting blatant aggressions directed by Iran towards the Kingdom and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in addition to its closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which created an obstacle to the flow of normal maritime traffic, causing an economic crisis that transcended the regional sphere to the global one due to the halt of oil and petroleum derivatives supply. Throughout this crisis, the Kingdom has remained, and continues to be, committed to the utmost possibility of self-restraint, characterized by patience and deliberation, maintaining a silence filled with significance and meaning...
May God preserve this wise leadership for us, and grant us the blessing of security, safety, and stability.
