احتفت شركة أرامكو السعودية باليوم العالمي للمتبرعين بالدم 2026، مؤكدة استمرار برامجها الهادفة إلى دعم بنوك الدم وتعزيز ثقافة التبرع بين الموظفين، إذ شارك 26,242 متبرعاً في 374 حملة نُفذت بمختلف مناطق المملكة منذ عام 2023.
وتعود بدايات خدمات التبرع بالدم في الشركة إلى ستينيات القرن الماضي، عندما أنشأت دائرة الخدمات الطبية أول بنوك الدم في المنطقة، قبل أن يحصل بنك الدم في الظهران على الاعتماد الدولي من الجمعية الأمريكية لبنوك الدم عام 1978.
وشهد البرنامج توسعاً خلال السنوات الماضية مع تعزيز المشاركة المجتمعية وتطوير الخدمات المرتبطة بالتبرع بالدم. وفي عام 2017، وفر مركز جونز هوبكنز أرامكو الطبي وحدات متنقلة للتبرع بالدم بهدف تسهيل وصول المتبرعين والمشاركة في الحملات بمواقع مختلفة.
وتؤكد الجهات الصحية أهمية التبرع بالدم في دعم جاهزية المستشفيات وتوفير الاحتياجات اللازمة للعمليات الجراحية والحالات الطارئة وعلاج المصابين بالأمراض المزمنة، فيما يؤدي انخفاض معدلات التبرع إلى زيادة الضغوط على بنوك الدم والفرق الطبية.
