استبعد مدرب ليفربول السابق الرئيس العالمي لكرة القدم في مجموعة «ريد بول» يورغن كلوب قضاء عطلة مستقبلية في مصر، بسبب النجم المصري محمد صلاح.
علاقة مميزة لم تخلُ من التوتر
ورغم العلاقة الناجحة بين الطرفين في ليفربول، لم تكن الأمور دائماً على وفاق، إذ شهدت فترة عملهما خلافاً جانبياً خلال مباراة وست هام في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز على ملعب لندن ستاديوم عام 2024.
وقال كلوب في تصريحات لشبكة «ESPN»: «نحن أصدقاء الآن، كنت دائماً أقول إنني أريد أن أكون صديقاً للاعبيّ، لكن لا يمكنني أن أكون أفضل صديق لهم، أثناء العمل معاً قد يعتقد اللاعبون أحياناً أنني لست صديقهم لأنني أتخذ قرارات لا تعجبهم، لكن كل ذلك أصبح من الماضي، أقوى شيء في الحياة هو الذكريات الجميلة، فهي أقوى من أي شيء تقريباً، والآن نحن نتشاركها، ونحن أصدقاء، وهو الآن في كأس العالم».
كلوب يستبعد زيارة مصر
وأضاف مدرب ليفربول السابق: «صلاح لاعب استثنائي، وهو مثال للكثيرين، ليس فقط في العالم العربي، بل على المستوى العالمي أيضاً، أعتقد أن مصر ربما من البلدان التي من الأفضل ألا أقضي فيها إجازة، لأنه جعلني مشهوراً جداً هناك! لذا لا توجد إجازة ممكنة هناك، كنا محظوظين بالعديد من اللاعبين، لكن مع مو تحديداً بسبب الأرقام التي حققها عبر السنوات، فهي لا تُضاهى».
فلسفة كلوب في التعامل مع النجوم
وعند سؤاله عن كيفية التعامل مع فريق عندما لا يكون نجم مثل صلاح في أفضل مستوياته، قال كلوب: «من السهل أن تذهب وتشير إلى كل موقف وتقول: هنا يجب أن يتحسن، وهنا أيضاً، لكن عندما تعمل معه يومياً تعتاد على ذلك».
وتابع: «أريده أن يحاول، وأريده أن يفشل، إذا لم تفشل، لن تخاطر، وإذا لم تخاطر، أين الإثارة؟ وكيف تصل إلى مستوى أعلى إذا لم تجرب أشياء لا يستطيع الآخرون القيام بها؟ هل كان مثالياً كل يوم؟ على الأغلب لا، لكنني لا أتذكر لاعباً كان كذلك بصراحة».
وختم حديثه: «بالطبع كمدرب قد ترى أنه يمكنه تحسين بعض الأمور، لكن بالنظر إلى الوراء، نحن ببساطة شهدنا أشياء عظيمة في وجوده، في معظم الوقت كان يقدم أداءً مذهلاً، ويسجل أهدافاً رائعة، ويحسم المباريات لنا، ويرفعنا إلى مستوى أعلى، لا أحد كاملاً، لا ميسي ولا رونالدو ولا محمد صلاح، لكنهم جميعاً أقرب إلى الكمال من غيرهم».

A Special Relationship Not Without Tension
Despite the successful relationship between the two parties at Liverpool, things were not always harmonious, as their time together witnessed a side disagreement during a match against West Ham in the Premier League at London Stadium in 2024.
Klopp said in statements to ESPN: "we are friends now, I have always said that I want to be a friend to my players, but I can't be their best friend. While working together, players may sometimes think that I am not their friend because I make decisions they don't like, but all of that is in the past. The strongest thing in life is beautiful memories; they are stronger than almost anything, and now we share them, and we are friends, and he is now in the World Cup."
Klopp Rules Out Visiting Egypt
The former Liverpool coach added: "Salah is an exceptional player, and he is an example for many, not just in the Arab world, but globally as well. I think Egypt might be one of the countries where it’s better for me not to spend a holiday, because he made me very famous there! So, no holiday is possible there. We were lucky to have many players, but with Mo specifically because of the numbers he has achieved over the years, they are unmatched."
Klopp's Philosophy in Dealing with Stars
When asked how to deal with a team when a star like Salah is not at his best, Klopp said: "It's easy to go and point out every situation and say: this needs to improve, and this one too, but when you work with him every day, you get used to it."
He continued: "I want him to try, and I want him to fail. If you don't fail, you won't take risks, and if you don't take risks, where's the excitement? And how do you reach a higher level if you don't try things that others can't do? Was he perfect every day? Most likely not, but I honestly don't remember a player who was."
He concluded: "Of course, as a coach, you might see that he can improve some things, but looking back, we simply witnessed great things in his presence. Most of the time, he delivered amazing performances, scored wonderful goals, decided matches for us, and lifted us to a higher level. No one is perfect, not Messi, nor Ronaldo, nor Mohamed Salah, but they are all closer to perfection than others."
