حضر محافظ جدة الأمير سعود بن عبدالله بن جلوي، مساء أمس (الخميس)، حفل القنصلية العامة للجمهورية الفرنسية بمناسبة العيد الوطني الفرنسي، الذي أقيم في «دار فرنسا» بجدة، بحضور مدير عام فرع وزارة الخارجية بمنطقة مكة المكرمة فريد الشهري، وعدد من القناصل العامين والدبلوماسيين وأبناء الجالية الفرنسية.
وأكد القنصل العام لفرنسا بجدة محمد نهاض، في كلمته، أن العلاقات بين المملكة وفرنسا تقوم على الثقة والصداقة والاحترام المتبادل، مبيناً أن احتفال هذا العام يكتسب أهمية استثنائية لتزامنه مع مرور مائة عام على إقامة العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين البلدين.
وأوضح أن أول قنصلية فرنسية افتُتحت في جدة عام 1839، فيما شهد عام 1926، في عهد الملك المؤسس عبدالعزيز بن عبدالرحمن آل سعود، إقامة العلاقات الدبلوماسية رسميًا، لتبدأ مسيرة من التعاون والشراكة امتدت قرناً كاملاً، وشملت المجالات السياسية والاقتصادية والثقافية والتعليمية.
وأشار إلى أن المملكة وفرنسا واصلتا خلال العقود الماضية تعزيز شراكتهما الإستراتيجية بما يحقق المصالح المشتركة، ويجسد متانة العلاقات التاريخية بين البلدين.
وتبادل الحضور الأحاديث الودية في أجواء عكست عمق العلاقات السعودية الفرنسية، فيما اختُتم الحفل بالتزامن مع فرحة الحضور بتأهل المنتخب الفرنسي إلى الدور نصف النهائي، في مشهد أضفى أجواءً احتفالية على المناسبة الوطنية.
The Governor of Jeddah, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, attended the celebration organized by the Consulate General of the French Republic on the occasion of the French National Day, which took place at "Dar France" in Jeddah, in the presence of the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs branch in the Makkah region, Farid Al-Shahri, along with several consuls general, diplomats, and members of the French community.
The Consul General of France in Jeddah, Mohamed Nahad, confirmed in his speech that the relations between the Kingdom and France are based on trust, friendship, and mutual respect, noting that this year's celebration holds exceptional significance as it coincides with the centenary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
He explained that the first French consulate was opened in Jeddah in 1839, while the year 1926, during the reign of the founding king Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, marked the official establishment of diplomatic relations, initiating a journey of cooperation and partnership that has lasted a full century, encompassing political, economic, cultural, and educational fields.
He pointed out that the Kingdom and France have continued over the past decades to strengthen their strategic partnership in a way that achieves common interests and embodies the robustness of the historical relations between the two countries.
The attendees exchanged friendly conversations in an atmosphere that reflected the depth of Saudi-French relations, while the event concluded simultaneously with the joy of the attendees at the French national team's qualification for the semi-finals, in a scene that added a celebratory ambiance to the national occasion.
